About our Chapter Bluebonnet Chapter No. 74, is the Austin, TX, chapter of the International Right of Way Association. Our Chapter was found-ed in 1985 by professionals in the right of way field to unite mem-bers for education, to improve service to employers and the pub-lic, and to advance our members within the profession. We are part of Region 2 of the International Association. Our current membership includes professionals involved in a wide array of projects requiring real estate and right of way services.

April starts off with some great news! Chapter 74 is a finalist for Website of the Year!! Hurrah!! So, if you have not checked out the new website, please do so. We had a great and creative group in Connie Real, Maggie Schedler and Teri Morgan that worked to design and get the site up and running. Michelle Hawkins has been working to keep it updated. Give these Ladies a pat on the back when you see them! Also, here is a shameless marketing plug…If you or your company would like to place your company logo on our Award Nominated website, we can make that happen! The advertising fee is $300.00/year, but we will be pro-rating advertising fee starting this month…lucky you!
We are only into the second quarter of the year and the rest of the year is full of events. I want to put it out there that we have plenty of opportunities to participate. We are always looking for speakers and topic ideas, as well as people to come and help with set up and registration at our monthly luncheons. We will be having a Young Professionals Networking Happy Hour monthly, so if you would like to help with those, or just come by and have an adult beverage. We are always open to having more people on the Board, so we can definitely find a place to plug you in. All of the current members of the Board got started by asking an officer or committee chair if they could help out in some way. Whether you just want to test the waters helping out at a single event or be on one of the committees, we would love to have to you! We have several new members of the Board and I and very excited about the energy and ideas they have been bringing forward! Over the years, I have gotten to know so many great people and made some lasting friendships as a result of my participation in IRWA. I have learned and grown so much professionally and personally. It has been a lot of fun and I highly recommend it!
So, if you would like to make new friends, create an event, participate at a higher level, take on more responsibility, contact your local Chapter 74 Board member and let one (or all of us) know! Make-A-Wish Donation
Chad Wicks of Make-a-Wish, Central/South Texas accepted Chapter 74 and 39's donation from the 2012 Twin Rivers ED Golf Tournament held back in September 2012 at Onion Creek Coun-try Club at the March 12th luncheon. The 9th Annual Tournament almost doubled the previous year by raising $8,500.00 for Make-a-Wish. We not only thank the many fine sponsors who stepped forward this year and the ED Golf Committee, but also offer our thanks to Onion Creek for providing an excellent fa-cility and service that helped us pull off a record setting event. Young Professionals On March 27th, the Young Professionals of Chapter 74 held their first event of the year at Bar Louie's in downtown Austin between 5:30 and 7:30 pm.
The event was a HUGE success with a turnout of over 15 people. Some of the "young at heart folks" were there in support of the upcoming leaders of our pro-fession, but the majority of the attendees were young as seen in the photos taken at the event. We had door prizes from Compliant Relocation in the amount of $100 Visa gift card, The SynSyn Group with a donation of $25 gift card, and ARIA provided the appetizers for the event along with a $25 gift card. We would like to thank our sponsors for the great door prizes, and for those of you who did not attend, we encourage you to come out to our next event, which we will be announcing at our upcoming luncheon.
