World Meeting of Families:
Every three years the World Meeting of Families brings together families from across the world to celebrate the value and importance of marriage and family, in society and in the Church, as well as to pray and reflect together.
This year Pope Francis chose Dublin, Ireland to host this important event. It will be held from August 21-28. The theme this year is
“THE GOSPEL OF THE FAMILY, JOY FOR THE WORLD.”
We ask that you pray for the success of this gathering. Should a family be interested in travelling to Dublin and partake in this event, the diocese is willing to pay $1,000. per family to help cover the trip expenses. If you are interested see Father Paul for more details concerning this event. May this be an opportunity for all of us to support the families of our diocese on their faith journey and in their efforts to build a better world for the children of today and of the future. Yours in Christ, Bishop Marcel Damphousse
Sewage trouble in the rectory
This past week, we had a sewage back up in the basement of the rectory.
Fortunately there was not too much damage to my personal belongings.
However there was substantial damage to the floors and walls.
We have lost some Parish archival files and pictures from the past. With the help of Mary Lou, Norma, Denise, Calvin, Lois, Randy and Claudette some pictures were taken of some of the archival items that were destroyed.
We would appreciate receiving any: 40th and 60th anniversary pictures or significant events (please mark on them the event and the people in the photo) We also thank Ed, Fran and Cathy for their quick response
in initiating contact with the clean up companies.
