Spring Pictures Spring pictures will take place on Thursday, April 9th. Scholars with a prepayment or money order form, will take pictures on this day.   

Only scholars with a prepayment or money order form will take Spring Pictures.  

 All scholars who are taking pictures must wear their dress uniform. If you have any additional questions, please contact the front office.

 

Sacramento Black Book Fair & Community Read­In 

 

The 2015 Sacramento Black Book Fair (SBBF) selected as its theme “Reading, a Pathway to Freedom: The 50th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act.” The SBBF is inviting Fortune School Families to explore its theme by reading at least one of the 2015 book selections listed below.  

 Selections will be available for purchase on Tuesday, April 14th from 3:00 ­ 5:00 PM. We are excited to be partnering with the Sacramento Black Book Fair to encourage our scholars and families to participate in this city­wide Community Read­In! 

 

 

 

College Field Lessons Our College Field Lessons will begin this trimester for all classes in every grade level! We are looking for volunteers to help chaperone our trips. Chaperone’s must be fingerprinted in order to lead a group.  Our schedule for each grade level is as follows: 

 

Kindergarten: CSU Sacramento ­ April 24 Second Grade: CSU Stanislaus ­ April 30 Third Grade: San Francisco State ­ April 14 

Fourth Grade:Stanford ­ April 30 Sixth Grade: UC Berkeley ­ April 15 

 

  

Early Release Day 2015­2016 Beginning August 19, 2015, all scholars will dismiss at 2:00PM every Wednesday. Fortune School campuses are implementing the Common Core State Standards along with the rest of California’s public schools. As a result, our teachers and principals need more time for professional development and planning.   

Utilizing Wednesday afternoons each week will allow Fortune educators the time they need to plan. The After School Program will be offered on Wednesdays to accommodate the Early Release schedule.  

Have questions about the new Early Release schedule for next school year? Please refer to Mr. Gambino and Mr. Atkins for any inquiries regarding this schedule change for 2015­2016. 

 

LogoWear Sale Elite Sports will be having a sale of polos and other logowear items to get a jumpstart for the  2015 ­ 2016 school year on April 8th and April 22nd. They will have lots of stock on hand and order forms on April 8th. Families can cash and carry items or place an order with payment on April 8th. Families can pick up orders or cash and carry items that are in stock on April 22nd. 

 Refer a Friend 

Enrollment Campaign  As we focus on enrollment for next year we will be offering an incentive program for our families. If a family refers a child AND they enroll, the family is entitled to ONE FREE UNIFORM POLO SHIRT for their scholar.  

They can earn a polo shirt for EACH child that officially enrolls with our school. We will distribute all free polos in August once the new school year has begun.
