Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)
• Law increased budget for all schools
• Per student formula—with increases for high school students
• Biggest increases for districts with the greatest needs
o Low-income (based on free and reduced eligibility for school meals)
o Foster kids and English learners

Marin Community Health Survey:
34 % children ages 2 – 17 were overweight \ at risk

Poverty in Novato
7.4% of Novato’s 53, 301 residents live in poverty. Food Insecurity is a problem that is not widely visible. Mild Food Insecurity : Highest rates of obesity
