MOMS HAVE BEEN USED BY GOD THROUGH THE CENTURIES

Mom's have always played a vital role in our lives, and Mother's Day is a great chance to remember and give thanks to moms.

MOMS USED BY GOD

Over the centuries, Moms have been given jobs of great faith.

Let’s see some of these Biblical examples.

1. A Courageous Mother in a hostile worldExodus 2

• Pharaoh ordered the killing of all boy Hebrew babies. But Moses was born anyway.

• Jochebed placed him in a basket and let him float down the Nile river.

• Pharaoh's daughter found him and he was spared.

• She hired Jochebed to nurse the baby.

• Moses was taught about God during that nursing time.

• A godly woman can teach her children about God even in a hostile environment.

2. A praying mother. 1 Samuel 1

• Hannah was barren. She prayed to God for a child.

• “For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him. So I have also dedicated him to the LORD; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD " And  she worshiped the LORD there. " (1 Samuel 1:27,28).

• She got her miracle and gave her son back to the Lord to serve in the Temple.

• Her son became the 1st prophet to Israel.

3. A Mother of FaithGen. 18:10

• Sarai was a barren woman. God changed her name to Sarah: “mother of nations”.

• Her name was a statement of faith, even before she had a child.

• Detail: she was 90 years old.• "Then the LORD said, 'I will

surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.'"

• Sarah eventually gave birth to Isaac and the nation of Israel came from him.

• She had faith in God.SARAH

4. A Submissive Mother

• Mary the mother of Jesus, a virgin promised to marry to Joseph. She was with child conceived by the Holy Spirit.

• “Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" …the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God… And Mary said, Behold, the servant of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.”

• God chose Mary and she had to accept what happened, even though she could be stoned to death.

• She ended up by giving birth to the Savior of the world.

5. A Teaching Mother 2 Timothy 1:5

• Timothy's mother, Eunice and his grand mother Lois taught him the Holy Scriptures while he was growing up.

• I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” (2 Tim. 1:5)

• “from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures"

(2 Tim. 3:15a).

• He became the most faithful companion of Paul in his mission trips, and became a key pastor replacng Paul where he could not go. He was the pastor of the Church of Ephesus.

• SOMEBODY WITH A DESTINY DECIDED BY GOD HIMSELF.

• GOD GAVE TO YOU A SUPERNATURAL KEY TO RAISE YOU FOR THAT PURPOSE

THIS IS YOU, MOM!• Be a COURAGEOUS mother!• Be a PRAYING mother!• Be a MOTHER OF FAITH!• Be a SUBMISSIVE mother!• Be a TEACHING mother!• Be an OBEDIENT mother!

IF YOU ARE A FATHER• YOU ARE CALLED TO BE PART OF THE

SAME WONDERFUL MISSION• YOU HAVE GREAT RESPONSIBILITIES

BEFORE THE LORD AS THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY TO LEAD YOUR CHILD AND ALSO TO BE A GODLY EXAMPLE TO HIM, HER, OR THEM.

IF YOU ARE A CHILD/ TEEN• BE SURE TO WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO YOUR

MOM AND TO YOUR FATHER• WHEN YOU DO THAT YOU ARE WALKING IN

OBEDIENCE TO THE LORD.• THAT IS THE EASIEST AND FASTEST WAY

TO FIND OUT GOD’S WILL FOR YOUR LIFE.• GOD GAVE TO YOUR PARENTS A

SUPERNATURAL KEY TO RAISE YOU FOR THAT PURPOSE.
