The best female lawyers from across the continentcongregated at Essex House in New York on June 5 tocelebrate Euromoney Legal Media Group’s secondannual Americas Women in Business Law Awards.

Judge Kimba Wood, United States District Judge(Senior Judge), southern district of New York gavethe keynote speech to an audience of in-house andprivate practice attorneys who had gathered tocelebrate the achievements of those firms setting thestandard in terms of female-friendly work practices,and women leading the field in the legal sectoracross the Americas.

Guests also heard speeches from the outstandingpractitioner winner Kathy Patrick of Gibbs & Bruns, and

the lifetime achievement winner Judge Loretta Preska.

In the firm categories, David Polk & Wardwell wasnamed best international firm for women in businesslaw, and also recevied the prize for best genderdiversity initiative by an international firm. In otherinternational categories, Sidley Austin collected theaward for most innovative firm, Debevoise &Plimpton was named the best firm for work-lifebalance, O’Melveny & Myers was rewarded for thebest mentoring program and White & Case pickedup the award for best international firm for talentmanagement.
