Duncan Artus Allan Gray

Duncan joined Allan Gray in 2001 and has been managing a portion of client equity and balanced portfolios since January 2005, when he was appointed as a portfolio manager. He is a director of Allan Gray Group Proprietary Limited. Duncan completed his honours in Business Science and a postgraduate diploma in Accounting at the University of Cape Town. He is a CMT® and CFA® charterholder.

Nick NdirituAllan Gray

Nick is a portfolio manager for the Allan Gray Africa ex-SA Equity Fund and Africa ex-SA Bond Fund. He joined Allan Gray in 2010, with experience in investment banking and management consulting. Nick holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering (magna cum laude) from Northeastern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Tamryn LambAllan Gray

Tamryn is head of Retail Distribution. She joined Orbis in London in 2006 as an investment analyst, covering European equities. After spending several years in both investment and client-facing roles, she joined Allan Gray in the Institutional Client Servicing team in 2013. Tamryn holds a BBusSc from the University of Cape Town and is a qualified chartered accountant (SA) and a CFA® charterholder.

Scott NisbetBaillie Gifford

Scott joined Baillie Gifford in 1996 and worked in the North American and UK Investment teams until 2003, when he moved to the Clients Department as a director with responsibility for overseas clients. He became a partner in 2007 and sits on the Clients Department Management Group and the Strategic Leadership Group. Scott holds an MA in English Literature and French from the University of Edinburgh and a postgraduate diploma in Translation from the University of Paris.

Johny LambridisPrudential

With 20 years’ experience in investment management, Johny joined Prudential in 2013 as a portfolio manager and equity analyst, focusing on insurance and specialist financial services companies, as well as selected industrial counters. He was appointed as head of equity in 2018. Johny is a member of Prudential’s Equity Voting Committee and Asset Allocation Committee. His qualifications include a BEconSc (Actuarial Science), and he is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Neil RobsonColumbia Threadneedle

Neil has been head of Global Equities at Columbia Threadneedle Investments since July 2017. He joined the company in 2011 as a portfolio manager in the Global Equities team. He is deputy manager of the Threadneedle Global Select Fund and co-manager of the Threadneedle Global Extended Alpha Fund. Before joining Columbia Threadneedle, Neil was a fund manager at Martin Currie, Barings and Citibank, among others, and headed Global Equity at Pioneer Investments from 2003 to 2009. Neil holds a BSc (Honours) in Economics from the University of Bristol.

Pieter KoekemoerCoronation

Pieter is head of Personal Investments at Coronation Fund Managers, having joined the company in 1998. His key responsibility is to ensure exceptional client service through a combination of appropriate products, relevant market information and good client outcomes. Pieter is a chartered accountant (SA), certified financial planner and a CFA® charterholder.

Pallavi AmbekarCoronation

Pallavi joined Coronation in 2003 and manages assets within Coronation’s absolute return fund range. Her research responsibilities include shares in the telecommunications, consumer goods, retail, and hotel and leisure sectors. Pallavi has 16 years’ investment experience. She holds a BBusSc from the University of Cape Town, and is a chartered accountant (SA) and a CFA® charterholder.

Nicholas KirrageSchroders

Nicholas is co-head of the Global Value team at Schroders since 2013, and a founding member of this team of value investors who manage UK, European and global portfolios. He is co-manager of the Schroders Global Recovery Fund. Nicholas joined Schroders in 2001 and is based in London. He was a fund manager and analyst at Schroders until 2013, commencing his career in the pan-European Research team with responsibility for transport, metals and mining, and the aerospace and defence sectors. Nicholas holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Bristol University and a Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Evan JankelowitzSesfikile

Evan is a co-founder and executive director of Sesfikile Capital. He joined Stanlib in 2003, representing teams such as Structured and Alternative Investments as well as Product Development in the Wealth division. He then moved on to asset management as an analyst primarily focused on listed property, after which he was appointed as co-head of the Listed Property Franchise. He also co-managed the Stanlib Global Property Fund. Evan holds a BCom in Financial Management (cum laude) from the University of Johannesburg and a Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Kundayi Munzara Sesfikile

Kundayi is a co-founder and executive director of Sesfikile Capital. He started his career as a property valuer at Old Mutual Properties and then Investec Private Bank before moving to Investec Property Investments, where he was appointed as head of research for the Investment team of analysts in South Africa, the UK and Australia. In 2009, he moved to Investec Bank London to co-manage and develop Investec’s global listed property offering. Kundayi holds a BSc (Hons) in Property Studies from the University of Cape Town. He completed the then-Financial Services Authority of the UK examinations for approved person status and a Private Equity and Venture Capital course at Harvard Business School, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Kevin Lings Stanlib

As Stanlib’s chief economist, Kevin is responsible for domestic and global economic research and forecasts. He joined Liberty Asset Management, Stanlib’s predecessor, as an economic analyst in 2001. Previously, he worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he was a member of the Macroeconomic Research team, and at Nedcor Group, where he was a senior economist. Kevin holds a BCom (Hons) in Economics from Wits University and lectured Economics part-time at Wits Business School from the mid-1990s to mid-2000s. He is also a sought-after media commentator.

Siki MgabadeliMC

Siki is a freelance financial and current affairs journalist, sought-after moderator and facilitator and acclaimed TV and radio personality. She anchors the annual Mobile World Congress of the GSMA, and has moderated panel discussions for the World Economic Forum and United Nations, to name but a few. Her accolades include Sanlam Financial Journalist of the Year: TV, twice, and the Telkom ICT Journalist of the Year: TV. Siki holds an honours degree in Journalism from Rhodes University.

Maria KonnikovaInternational speaker

Maria is an award-winning author, journalist, and international champion poker player. She is a contributing writer for The New Yorker, and the author of two New York Times bestsellers, The Confidence Game, winner of the 2016 Robert P. Balles Annual Prize in Critical Thinking, and Mastermind: How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes, an Anthony and Agatha Awards finalist. She is currently working on a book about poker and the balance of skill and luck in life, The Biggest Bluff, to be published in 2020 by Penguin Press. Maria’s writing has been translated into over 20 languages. She also hosts the podcast “The Grift” from Panoply Media, a show that explores con artists and the lives they ruin. Maria graduated from Harvard University and holds a PhD in Psychology from Columbia University.

Ashley Lynn Orbis

Ashley is head of fixed income at Orbis. Prior to joining Orbis in 2013, she worked as an attorney at Boyden Gray & Associates in Washington, D.C., and in a policy role at the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the United States Department of Defense. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and a Master of Arts from Yale University, as well as a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School. She is a CFA® charterholder.
