Services and SolutionsAmbient Assisted Technologies – The Virtual Cook
SerCHo Virtual CookIn this project an interactive, multimedia-based application is
developed that assists the user with kitchen activities. Via a GUI that also supports voice and touch interaction, the Virtual Cook helps with choosing, preparing and step-by-step following the instructions of recipes.
With the information of all kitchen appliances and user data provided, the application guides the user, provides multimedia-based context and automatically operates appliances such as preheating of the oven. On the one hand side, this project opens the kitchen towards more entertainment, on the other-hand side, it practically supports comfort, learning and safety especially for younger cooks.

SerCHo Smart Health AssistentConcept:
The goal is a system that will be accepted by the user in terms of size and weight of the wearable unit and sports a welldesigned, context-independent user interface. Additionally, the system should provide a medical service center that facilitates development of a broad bandwidth of applications. Additionally two applications, namely a disease diagnosis and a wellness application should be developed.
The focus of the project is set on both feasibility studies and development of hard- and software.

Smart Home Energy Assistant:Concept:
This project is dedicated to the use of energy saving potentials in and around the house through the intelligent operation of energyconsuming devices such as heating, lighting, and kitchen appliances. Besides avoiding heavy waste of energy caused by e.g. inaccurateheating, this application aims at bundling the lot of smaller energy saving possibilities in-house. Optimization takes place on the base of a set of rules that is programmed by the user. According to these rules, SHEA can on the one-hand side notify the user about waste of energy and on the other-hand side operate appliances automatically. For its calculations tha appliance has access to user data, specific device profiles and context information.
