3.4 Supplement to the AIP (AIP SUP)
Temporary changes of long duration (three months and longer) and information of short duration which consists of extensive text and/or graphics, supplementing the permanent information contained in the AIP, are published as AIP Supplements (AIP SUP). Operationally significant temporary changes to the AIP are published in accordance with the AIRAC system and its established effective dates and are identified clearly by the acronym AIRAC AIP SUP.
AIP Supplements are separated by information subject (General-GEN, En-route-ENR and Aerodromes-AD) and are placed accordingly at the beginning of each AIP Part. Supplements are published on yellow paper to be conspicuous and to stand out from the rest of the AIP. Each AIP Supplement (regular or AIRAC) is allocated a serial number which is consecutive and based on the calendar year, i.e. AIP SUP 01/10; AIRAC AIP SUP 01/10.
An AIP Supplement is kept in the AIP as long as all or some of its contents remain valid. The period of validity of the information contained in the AIP Supplement will normally be given in the supplement itself. Alternatively, NOTAM may be used to indicate changes to the period of validity or cancellation of the supplement.
The checklist of AIP Supplements currently in force is issued in the monthly printed plain-language list of valid NOTAM.
3.5 NOTAM and Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB)
NOTAM contain information concerning the establishment, condition or change in any aeronautical facility, service, procedure or hazard, the timely knowledge of which is essential for personnel concerned with flight operations.
The text of each NOTAM contains the information in the order shown in the ICAO NOTAM Format and is composed of the significations/uniform abbreviated phraseology assigned to the ICAO NOTAM Code complemented by ICAO abbreviations, indicators, identifiers, designators, call signs, frequencies, figures and plain language. NOTAM are originated and issued for Incheon FIR and are distributed in five series identified by the letters A, C, D, G and H.
Series A. NOTAM containing information for the personnel concerned with international flight operations of general rules, air navigation and communication facilities, airspace restrictions and activities, and international airports. Given international distribution only.
Series C. NOTAM containing information for the personnel concerned with flight operations of general rules, air navigation and communication facilities, and aerodromes. Given domestic distribution only.
Series D NOTAM containing information for the personnel concerned with flight operations of airspace restrictions and activities. Given domestic distribution only.
Series G NOTAM containing information of the prediction of GPS Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring(RAIM) outage of international aerodromes. Given international distribution only.
Series H NOTAM containing information of the prediction of GPS Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring(RAIM) outage of aerodromes. Given domestic distribution only.
Change : New NOTAM Series(Series D) and changed the contents of series A, C, G, H.

AIP SUP 1/10, AIRAC SUP 1/10.

RKTH AD 2.23 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. Bird concentrations in the vicinity of airportAn average of 14 000 birds a year have been flown around Pohang Airport. It is shown the increasing number of birds when the groups of snipes and skylarks start plying the action in April, May , September, October and November. Usually, sedentary birds fly over during the time of sunrise and sunset around the year except late spring and fall. The status of flying on each period is as follows. In January and February, the groups of gulls fly over (200 FT) the Pohang airport to move to Hodong landfill from Dogu coast during the time of sunrise and sunset. In April and May, the groups of snipes inhabit at the airport and fly around the area. In August and September, a number of sparrow hawk fly over Pohang Airport and the groups of skylarks are active in October and September. It is indicated that the groups of birds are on the feed surrounding taxiway at Pohang Airport, Then, they do not fly across the runway and fly back to their habitat close to the outskirts of the airport. However, the groups of skylarks and snipes, which are active late spring and in fall, are on the feed as well as inhabit within the airport.
