G O D ’ S P L A NYou wanna know what it’s like..To be young, ambitious and still inferiorTo be strong, independent, but noted otherwise based on your exterior

You look at me with presumptions of my storyLess concerned of my journey…More interested in my worriesYou think you have me all gured out… Don’t you?If I open my mouth, you’ll slap me… Won’t you?

I’m aware of the prejudices I face,Even more aware of the decisions I make.. And every step that I take In a more conscious not so cautious stateNo time to second guess or contemplate When my every thought is set to be dominatedTaught that if I talk out of term, There should be no conversationOr conversating… which ever for you is less complicatedBecause that’s what they want us to thinkThey want us to limit ourselvesFrom the way that we walk, to our dress, to our speechIt’s easy to defeat the uneducated, living in a system that’s premeditatedDesigned specically for us to fail…Then we’re presented well fair as if this is a fair well

See, I come from a city where..POP POP..just for a simple stareCops looking like please bewareOh… you thought there was peace in the city?Summer time come, leaving n*ggas pieces in the citySh*t gets trickySo who really makes the news? The victims or the ones being used ..Like puppets, the cops are the museWorks of the KKK is not to be misconstrued

Know my rights, know what it saysBut If I speak on it, to defend myself, then I end up dead?Damn like that….But we’re more concerned about why someone won’t text backToo content with believing it won’t aect usNews ash, everything around us is against us

We sit behind social media,You know the sh*t… that they’re feedin usKnowing we won’t attack back - We’ll overlook it Cause if Sandra Bland aint yo sister, then why dispute itWhy in quote, risk looking stupid

See, this is what I mean when I say uneducatedWe’re much more powerful than what’s demonstratedBut I won’t blame you, they don’t really teach that in the text booksThey don’t wanna go that far backThey don’t wanna face the real factsCause they know, what type of revolution would come with that

I know there’s a lot in the world trying to test meI keep my faith in the Lord and he protects meI just pray there’s never a time a cop attempts to arrest meJust to realize I am too smart, & he has nothing to attest me

Then I’ll end up behind a cell

And only God knows where, It will go from thereThen he looking like some small town heroCaption in the paper say he was so fearful Like I’d really pose a threat to the one behind the vestClaim to serve and protect, but he’s really just a weirdo And this is the reality we live inWe’re dying over complexions and manipulated perceptionsBecause we’re constantly being considered less than… people

But this is just something to think aboutI don’t want to cloud your mind,But just remember, History has a way of repeating itself… every single time.
