CONCEPTThe Agrotron 215–265 Series — the superior choice for large-scale farm-ing operations.

These tractors are the culmination ofmore than 75 years of Deutz-Fahr’sexperience as a technological leader inthe agricultural machinery industry.Agrotron’s panoramic cab design andstreamlined configuration makes it trulyunique in the industry. Coupled withease of operation, superb comfort fea-tures and truly remarkable power, thistractor series has set a new benchmarkin its class.

Big, But VersatileLarge-scale operations put specialdemands on their tractors. Agrotron fea-tures optimum weight distribution formaximizing in-field performance. Withtop transport speeds of 31 mph (50km/h), row time is significantly reducedcompared to competition.

They’re especially adept at handlingseveral implements at once. Agrotron’srobust drive train, front and rear PTOs,3-point hitch, excellent gear ratios andpowerful hydraulics provide the founda-tion for a machine that can multi-taskday after day, year after year.

Top-Performing EnginesThis series of tractors is equipped withtop-performing, fuel-efficient Deutzengines, which provide constant powerand torque ranges. There’s an 11-hp (8.2kW) torque rise for load peaks. Withelectronic fuel injection control, bothworking and transport engine speedscan be programmed and activated whenneeded. In addition, both traveling andPTO speeds can be programmed withthe Tempomat function.

Intelligent Transmission DesignAgrotron's transmission ratios make use ofthe engine’s constant power characteris-tics and saves unnecessary gear shifting. The 4-speed Powershift transmission,Powershuttle and APS (AutomaticPowershift) ensure the right workingspeeds in all ranges. APS also providesextra driver convenience by automatical-ly shifting Powershift stages.

PowershuttleThe 4-speed Powershift transmission withPowershuttle ensures smooth “clutchless”takeoff and direction changes, resultingin more driver comfort and less fatigue.

Comfort for Long DaysLarge fields often mean long workingdays. The generously sized panoramicconfiguration of Agrotron’s cab ensuresunobstructed views and offers comfortfeatures that minimize stress, fatigue andpain, including an orthopedicallydesigned, low-vibration seat with pneu-matic suspension, pneumatic cab sus-pension and the ergonomic arrange-ment of all operating elements. Togetherwith the PowerComS operating leverand Agrotron’s many automatic func-tions, these tractors provide a completecomfort package.

Front HitchThe front 3-point hitch is integrated intothe front axle support. It has an11,000-pound (5000 kg) capacity tohandle the largest of front-pusher imple-ments, and a direct-drive 1000-rpmPTO to deliver plenty of power to PTO-driven front implements.

One of the finest features of the Agro-tron 215–265 Series is the cab, whichhas set a new standard of operatorcomfort in the industry. Roomy and spa-cious, it has wide, unobstructed views inevery direction. There’s no crawling orcontorting your body to get in: full-sizehandrails flank generously sized non-skid steps that lead to a wide door.Levers and switches are located in logi-cal clusters on the console according tofrequency of use, and they’re shape-and color-coded.

The InfocenterThe Infocenter allows you to continuous-ly monitor your tractor’s operating status. This helps avoid undetected mainte-nance problems, low fluid levels andnon-performing functions. The Infocenterprovides information on PTO and travelspeeds, maintenance and error mes-sages, engine speed, temperature, fueland others.

LightingThe cab and entrance area automati-cally illuminate when the door is openedso you can enter and exit in the dark. For night work, a variety of lighting con-figurations are available; up to 15 mainand working headlights can light anarea of 5,382 square feet (500 m2) — nearly two football fields.

Quiet CabsWith its low interior noise level of just72.8 dBA, the Agrotron 215–265Series is one of the quietest tractors inits class. In addition to such features asa quieter engine design, the cab alsohas an insulating wall between theengine compartment and the cab —you can really hear the difference.

Agrotron Field Information System (AFIS)Developed by Deutz-Fahr, the optionallyavailable AFIS replaces the older CAN-BUS tractor electronic system. The ISO-BUS replaces the CAN-BUS system, and is ASAE S-11783 communicationsprotocol compliant.

Along with the ASAE S-11786 for con-nectors, which was developed by agri-cultural industry leaders, this standardallows for the next generation of plug-and-play data-BUS technology. It per-mits the exchange of data and informa-tion between mounted implements andtractor, providing a support system forprecision farming.

AFIS features a video display and anoperating terminal that can be used tocontrol all suitably equipped mountedimplements, eliminating the need for anin-cab switchover from one monitor toanother for different implements such asfield sprayers or balers.

Up to nine working headlights illuminate over 5,000 sq. ft. of the front cultivation area. This console stores beverages and other necessities.

The spacious panoramic cab has ample room for the operator and instructor. Cable access hatch below the rear window is simple and convenient.

Page 7: Agrotron GREATCLASS 265 215 - Werktuigen...The Agrotron 215–265 Series is an excellent example of how Deutz-Fahr engineering succeeded in designing a tractor that offers unparal-leled

AFIS can also be retrofitted for specifictasks and for direct control of imple-ments without a separate job calculator. In addition, the terminal can be movedfrom one tractor to another.

Instructor’s SeatThe folding instructor’s seat is perfectlyintegrated into the cab. It has a safetybar, handle and lock in the door. Acompartment in the backrest providesroom for documents.

Note: The intent of this seat is for instruc-tional purposes only.

GREAT FUNC

One of Agrotron’s most valuable features is the PowerComS system, which has the ability to set memoryfor various functions, where all youhave to do is move a lever for instantrecall and execution.

The Tractor with a MemoryWith the PowerComS operating leverand the Comfortip function, you can

program individual field managementoperating sequences and activatethem by simply pressing or moving theoperating lever.

The operating sequences are dis-played in the Infocenter. As one func-tion is being executed the Infocenterindicates the next programmed func-tion, so you always know which func-

tion to activate next. The sequencescan be programmed when the tractoris stationary or moving, simply byusing the PowerComS lever.

Once you’ve done the procedure cor-rectly, an audible signal goes off andthe digital display on the instrumentpanel is activated to accept the com-mand. For programming, you can either

GREAT DRIVING

12

True driving comfort starts when thehuman aspect is taken into account atthe start of the design phase of a newtractor series. The Agrotron 215–265Series is an excellent example of howDeutz-Fahr engineering succeeded indesigning a tractor that offers unparal-leled operator comfort.

Cutting Edge Operating ConditionsRobust front axles, strong front-wheeldrive, a long wheelbase of 10 feet (3 m) and a tight turning radius areimportant qualities for driving comfort. This Agrotron series is equipped with afront-wheel drive that can be engaged/disengaged simply by pushing buttons.

Differential locks have a locking value of100 percent on both axles. The self-locking differential in the front axle auto-matically engages in the event of front-wheel slip with a locking value of 45percent. All clutches and locks are wet,and can be activated and deactivatedunder load or in the event of slip, elec-trohydraulically. Operating conditionsare displayed on the Infocenter.

Front Axle SuspensionDriving safety and comfort is consider-ably enhanced by front axle suspension, which is standard on the Agrotron 265,and optionally available on theAgrotron 215. This suspension ishydraulic and progressive with increas-ing ballast. The oscillating front axle issupported in the rocker arm.

Pneumatic Cab SuspensionAgrotron’s standard pneumatic, load-com-pensated cab suspension is supplied byits compressed air system, which providesoptimum driving comfort. Regardless ofcab load, spring travel is +3 inches (80mm), reducing harmful vibration consider-ably even at low speeds.

Between the front axle suspension, pneumatic cab suspension and pneumatic seat, you get unparalleled operating comfort.

Page 13: Agrotron GREATCLASS 265 215 - Werktuigen...The Agrotron 215–265 Series is an excellent example of how Deutz-Fahr engineering succeeded in designing a tractor that offers unparal-leled

G EXPERIENCE

13

This type of suspension provides thehighest level of comfort — comparableto an over-the-road truck. Between thefront axle and cab suspension and thepneumatic seat, you get unprecedentedsuspension and comfort.

SteeringAgrotron’s steering system is what youwould expect it to be: precise, smoothand reliable. That’s due to the use of anindependent steering pump and large,38-inch front tires (dual wheels option-al). A 52-degree turning angle, 22-foot(6.7 m) turning radius and swivelingfront fenders improve maneuverability.

Axle Control Management (ASM)This drive train management featureautomatically controls the front driveand both differential locks so 4-wheeldrive can be engaged or disengagedunder load (depending on steeringangle and speed).

An optional radar sensor detects wheelslippage. Both features are especiallyuseful for applications such as heavytillage, road transport with heavy loadsand work on slippery terrain.

Features

Improved driving and operating comfort; less strain and fatigue

Unhealthy vibration reduced

Reduction of the torsion and rolling motion, so there’s less strain on the cab and drive train

The Agrotron 215–265 Series of trac-tors is equipped with Deutz 6-cylinderturbocharged, intercooled dieselengines. The net result is constant powerand low fuel consumption.

Torque PlateausConstantly high torque plateaus areanother important feature exclusive toDeutz engines. The torque plateau(1200–1700 rpm, depending on themodel) gives the engine maximum

flexibility even through low speedranges. Shifting can be delayed to1200 rpm. All engines have a mini-mum torque rise of 34 percent.

The engines are equipped with elec-tronic engine control (EMC), whichmaintains constant and consistentpower output. Engine sensors supplythe EMC with information that is con-tinuously compared with pre-pro-grammed optimum engine ratings for

power, torque and fuel consumption, which are automatically adjusted opti-mize engine performance for everydriving and load situation.

Starting TorqueTogether with the turboclutch, the highstarting torque of these Deutz enginesensures that the tractor pulls off effi-ciently, smoothly and quickly onslopes, even with heavy loads.

GREATRE

16

The greatest test of a tractor’s abilities ishow its transmission holds up over manyhours of work. Deutz-Fahr’s AgrotronSeries transmissions are built to withstanddemanding conditions and deliver con-sistent, reliable power.

Smooth StartupThe Agrotron 265 has a non-wearingturboclutch, so startups are smooth andquick — regardless of topography andload. The clutch doesn’t slip, enginevibration is dampened and driving com-fort is improved.

During startup the pump wheel is drivenat the engine speed. The turbine wheelis accelerated slowly and smoothly, moving the tractor in the same manner. When in use, the pump wheel and tur-

bine wheel are non-positively lockedand turn at the same speed.

Close Speed RatiosWith 40 forward and reverse gears(including the standard creeper speedgroup) the transmission is closely gradu-ated. Speeds range from 1,476 feetper hour (450 km/h) to 31 mph (50km/h), depending on tires. There are13 speeds in the main working rangefrom 2.5 to 9.3 mph (4-15 km/h), andthe top overall speed can be reduced to25 mph (40 km/h) with the EMC (electronic engine control).

More Than Just a Powershift:Automatic Powershift (APS)Agrotron’s APS feature automaticallyshifts to one of four Powershift speeds,

depending on the tractor’s engine loadand rpm. APS allows you to infinitelyvary the sensitivity of the system with arotary switch. The clutch is actuated witheither the foot pedal or with a button onthe shifting lever, so 24 speeds can beshifted without using the clutch pedal.

Reversing/ShiftingThe shuttle transmission makes itpossible to pull off from a stationaryposition or change direction of travel(reverse/forward) without actuating theclutch. Operation is easy using switcheson the PowerComS lever.

The direction of travel can be changed(F/R) at a speed of up to 7.8 mph (12.5km/h) without pressing the clutch pedal. The tractor decelerates slowly and

Two PTO SpeedsThe rear PTO has two standard speeds(540 and 1000 rpm) for a wide rangeof applications. The flange-mountedPTO stub can be fitted with a number ofdifferent profiles. It can be operatedfrom the cab or controls on the rearfender. Electrohydraulic control ensuresmodulated, low-wear PTO startup. When the rear 3-point hitch is actuatedthe PTO automatically switches on and

off, which helps prevent mounted imple-ments from damage and other operat-ing errors.

Front PTOThe 1000-rpm front PTO is driven direct-ly by the engine, and electrohydrauli-cally activated with a button.

The speed is displayed on the A-strut. The turboclutch permits a non-wearing, smooth pull-off.

Agrotron’s powerful load-sensing hydraulic system with a huge liftingability of 23,100 pounds (10,500 kg)and a maximum pump flow of 32 gpm (120 L/min.) ensures superior hydraulicpower for all applications.

To meet the demands load and workingconditions place on oil quality, there areseparate oil circuits for the hydraulic sys-tems and transmission. This eliminatesthe possibility of cross-contamination.

Load SensingThe system has an axial piston variabledisplacement pump controlled by the

load-sense feedback line.. The variabledisplacement pump instantly providesmore oil to handle the pressurerequired by the hydraulic load. Thisfunction, with the highest pressurerequirements, determines the systempressure at that moment.

Vibration DampeningDuring fast road travel, implementmovement, vibrations and oscillationsoccur in the hydraulic system, whichcan have a detrimental effect on driv-ing safety and comfort. When vibra-tion dampening is engaged (automat-ically from 5 mph (8 km/h), imple-

ment movement is detected by elec-tronic load sensing pins, and adjustedaccordingly by the 3-point hitch tominimize movement.
