Why: WSLA & BIGLA Mission & Culture

- Function on the generosity and commitment of volunteers and those who wish to steward the education & expansion of the game of LAX.

- Coaches, Refs, Board Members, Fundraisers, Student Athlete Assistants are all volunteers. (more on volunteer opps. later)

- WSLA & BIGL emphasis on sportsmanship:

- Relax, Enjoy, No Scholarships will be awarded today.

- High expectation (esp with newer clubs) on behavior and league will sanction individuals and team penalties.

• Tonight: Concussion Forms & Uniform Deposits Due • No kids on practice field w.o. concussion form on file.

• 2/25/19: First Official Day of 2019 Season (Practice begins)

• 3/4/19: WSLA Releases Final Schedule

• 3/11/19: Team schedules loaded in Sports Engine app.

• 3/16-17/19 U12 & U14 Season Opening Jamboree • Location & Schedule TBD

• 3/23/19 Regular Season Games Begin

• 6/1/19 End of Season Jamboree: All youth Teams• Starfire Sports Complex

• No Youth Championships at these levels

• Each Team will have an end of season team party

Home Field: Battle Point Park

1st Practice is week of February 25th.

• U11 – Coach Grace, Abby Riebsamen & Kendall Havill• Tues & Thurs 4:00-5:00

• U12 – Coach Sean & Kristin and Elenor Collins • Tues & Thurs 4-5:30

• U 14 – Coach Chris DiMarco M,W,F: • Mon, Wed, Fri 4:00-6:00 pm

What do we do? We SELL DIRT!

Cedar Grove Compost & Potting Soil (1-1.25 CU FT BAGS)

Prices $6.50 Compost/$7.50 Potting Soil (same price as last year)

Raise +/- $10K

GOAL THIS YEAR $15k

Keeps registration costs down(50% OF BOYS)

Sale ends Week Of March 6th - Collect Envelopes (FINAL DAY 3/9)

Dirt delivery/Pick upFRI 3/22 6-8pm

SAT 3/23 8am - 12pm at Phelps Road Fire Station

To ensure that we can continue to deliver on our mission of providing all girls an opportunity to play this great sport. We are putting together sponsorships for this season and next.

We are a 501c3 organization so a tax deductible donation is also an option!

How can you get involved?

• Team Parents

• Timing & Scoring for each home game.

• Get to be on the sidelines (under a tent)- keeper of time/score/horns.

• Hear the coaches & refs, and be closer to your daughter

• Sideline Managers are required for each team at each game

• Job is to help encourage, maintain and manage the sportsmanlike behavior of spectators, players and coaches on the sidelines, and fans.
