's how an a!tion o!!'rred. ommentin$ and view#oint adverbs modify entire

!%a'ses rather than sin$%e verbs, adverbs, or ade!tives. There is no rea%

distin!tion between !ommentin$ adverbs and view#oint adverbs, e"!e#t in

their senten!e #%a!ement. any adverbs that !an be 'sed as view#oint

adverbs !an a%so be 'sed as !ommentin$ adverbs. However, in some !ases, an

adverb is far more !ommon as one or the other.

View#oint adverbs are #%a!ed at the be$innin$, or more rare%y, at the end of 

the senten!e. They are 's'a%%y se#arated from the rest of the senten!e by a

!omma. ommentin$ adverbs are #%a!ed before the main verb 'n%ess the verb(to be( is 'sed, in whi!h !ase #%a!ement !an be either before or after the verb.
