Kungälv The municipality of Kungälv is located close to the costal line of South West Sweden. Approximately 38 000 inhabitants live and flourish here. With its grand forts and medieval churches the area is rich with culture and history. Nature is also a main feature of Kungälv, with lush forests and sparkling lakes. For more information about Kungälv visit www.vastsverige.com (extern link) The adult education of Kungälv offers a wide selection of courses and programmes, both theoretical and VET- Vocational education and training programmes. Students can enjoy flexibility and studies adapted to their personal needs and preconditions through for example distance tuition. Kungälv adult education is a public non-profit organisation with approximately 30 employees and 1000 students passing through each year. The adult education is free of charge. Adult education reach out to young adults from 20 years of age that needs to complement their grades for access to higher education or needs new skills for changing profession. Our target group is mostly adults who failed their education earlier in life, suffers from unemployment or immigrants/refugees that needs to learn Swedish. There are different educational efforts at the school; assistance for reading and writing difficulties, half distance courses, special tutoring time and apprenticeship. Apprenticeship is a basic vocational education at upper secondary level that will lead to increased work experience and knowledge within the branch.
