For my University final major project I created a brand called FR&&K. The aim is to support freedom around the planet in a very original way. FR&&K collaborate with well estabilished brands that are not strictly related to fashion to create cap- sule collection that give the audience something to reflect. The SS14 collaboration is with Durex. The collection is all about promoting natural feeling, freedom and fun, thus the same can be said about Durex**.

Working for Adidas and Vivobarefoot has made me question and rethink the concept of footwear. Humans have evolved for hundreds of thousands of years without the need for foot- wear. Shoes originated to fulfil the need to protect feet from heat, cold and other hazardous conditions. Subsequently shoes became ornamental instruments and a mean to show status. My understanding of footwear has reinforced my belief that footwear should be functional and a natural ex-

tension of human body. Feet should therefore be afforded maximum protection and flexibility without compromising with the natural anatomy. By having the least amount of material possible the feet can pass as much information as possible to the brain. In fact, There are 7000 nerve endings in the feet alone, and among the highest concentration in the entire body. (the clitoris alone has more than 8,000)

These receptors are all lighting continuously and sending important information about balance, texture and tempera- ture to the brain. The intention of this project is to generate a greater aware- ness of what natural walking and running can do to our lives improving feeling, posture, circulation, balance and happi- ness after all.

For my inspiration I looked at transpare-cies and the way they interact with each other. Durex branding, products and the way they use textures to enhance feeling have been one of the main things I de-cided to focus my attention on.

REBEL

These are cool dudes always ready for the latest trend. Their shopping habits include Hype, Stussy, Obey and limited edition trainers.Often you can find them at art exhibitions and cultural events. Despite their classy attidude they are addicted to junk food which is quickly burned off at their holistic gym, a deadly combination of sweaty workouts, music and alcohol.

Ebba is 18 and a fashion blogger. Her dream is to fly the world in a hot-air balloon. She has a penchant for quirky things and David and Goliath, Mister Gugu and miss Go are among her favourite shops. She often writes her blog in a vegan cafe called “Heritage” where she’s literally addict-ed to vegan cheese cakes. Ebba is clearly ready to experi-ence the world head to toes.

The design process has been strictly related and influenced by the making of my mock-ups. I un-derstood how to tweak my designs and work in symbiosis with the making: “Form follows function”

Adidas ClimaVent is a concept I designed for Adidas Performance. The upper is able to ex-pand through the cuts while the Eva Outsole receives nearly textile properties. ClimaVent can then be attached easily to the any packpack. The concept is the same used in the Adidas Boost sock pictured far left. (2011, Adidas AG)
