Bio

• Adelina Pruz mainly describes herself as a 19 year old introvert and book lover. She works at cineplex, but doesn't’ go to school because she finds herself afraid of people. She is constantly known as the girl with her head buried in books. She’s quite passionate about reading, and finds reality lame in comparison to the stories she reads about. This leads her to join Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and Instagram, as a way to vent out her feelings since she had no one to talk to.

The Story

• With the fear she holds on to, Adelina is constantly being held back. She knows this, but she can’t seem to figure out what to do about it. She wants to find an escape that isn’t a book for just once in her life. She also likes to pin things she wants on Pinterest for herself. Looking at these pictures, she realizes she has so many desires.

The decision

• One day after watching “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” feeling inspired Adelina decides, “Why not go to Spain?” You would think she was joking but NOPE. She was ready for a change and her chance had just presented itself. For once in Adelina’s life, she was feeling positive and happy? A rare emotion since she rarely felt happy except when she was far away in whatever magical fantasy her books took her away to.

The obstacles

• Unfortunately… nothing comes easy. Adelina found herself $500 short. And to top it all off, her parents were furious when she told them. They didn’t understand this sudden new found interest in Spain. It was frustrating having her parents belittle her, when all she was trying to do was escape her shell.

And finally…

• SHE HAD DONE IT! She had earned the $500 she was missing. Adelina was able to buy her ticket to Spain. Unfortunately, her parents were still angry and refused to talk to her but that wasn’t going to stop her. This was an exciting opportunity, yet at the same time it terrified her. It would be her first time facing a world she had absolutely hated. Was she ready for this? Would she come back? Well that’s all to be continued… in her new adventure of self discovery.
