My research is grounded in theories and methods found in the field of mathematical analysiswith application to spectral theory of elliptic differential operators (particularly Laplace-Beltramioperator) and wavelet expansions, p-adic Fourier series. Strategies which I am currentlypursuing include estimation of maximal operator corresponding to the Riesz means of thespectral expansions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator, interpolation of the estimation of theRiesz means in the classes of Nikolski, establishment of the connection between the smoothnessof the function and order of Riesz means which guarantee localization and summability of theeigenfunction expansions in Nikolskii classes. My research primarily falls into the following themes:I. Localization and summability of eigenfunction expansions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator

on unit sphere.II. The spectral decompositions of the elliptic pseudo-differential operators.III. The convergence of eigenfunction expansions of elliptic operators in closed domain.IV. The approximation of integral and solutions of integral equations by wavelets.V. The localizations of spectral decompositions of distributions.VI. VI The almost everywhere convergence of p-adic Fourier series.

The focus of my research has been specifically on modeling optimal design ofrain gauge network using geostatistical (Kriging) and heuristic optimization(Simulated Annealing, Particle Swarm Optimization) techniques which usedrainfall data derives from various rain gauge stations and analyzed usingArcGIS software and MATLAB software. The research strategy employed inmy research aims to provide essential input for effective planning, designingand managing of water resources project such as flood frequency analysis andforecasting.
