54 year old morbidly obese male s/p colostomy reversal with extensive wound healing issues in present and past. Wound closed by secondary intention with VAC dressing x 1 week and wet to dry dressings of Actimaris wash daily performed at home by patient.

Patient developed a fascial dehiscence on POD # 4 which necessitated reclosure of fascia and placement of retention sutures for fascial reinforcement with replacement of VAC. A demonstration of patient’s wound healing difficulties.

Plastic surgical misadventure in Colombia one week post of debridement by myself. The patient’s umbilicus was transposed during a tummy tuck procedure. It turned into a huge abscess because the skin grew over it and had to be opened and removed. The big hole is what was left a week post op. One week of ActiMaris applied twice a day. Significant improvement in just a week. Really impressive. The patient is expected for a check up and I am anticipating the wound to be completely healed.

77 year old female s/p repair of paraesophageal hernia and small bowel resection who developed drainage from inferior aspect of wound 6 weeks post op while at subacute facility. Patient had several significant comorbidities which affected wound healing capabilities. Wound treated with ActiMaris gel once a day into wound. A total of 20g was used in treatment.

Ulcer cruris in multimorbidity and bleeding disorder. Local and systemic therapy of the wound unsuccessful. Vascular specialist recommended lower leg amputation.

Subsequently, local monotherapy with sensitive solution for 30 minutes (gauze soaked with solution), followed by gel and gauze dressing, once daily for 4 weeks.
