1 Introduction
The mp-LM F suction and filter unit has been designed to absorb the harmful dusts, gases and vapors as well as to separate the dusts for specific materials from the air at the workplace during the laser marking process with a device of the mp-LM family. Using the mp-LM F suction and filter unit, it is ensured that statutory regulations on clean air at workplaces are complied with. Due to its robust construction, the mp-LM F suction and filter unit is suitable for increased stress during commercial use. The mp-LM F suction and filter unit is generally designed for the extraction of dry, non-combustible dusts, gases and vapors and the separation of non-combustible dusts from non-explosive air mixtures. For the following Murrplastik materials, the mp-LM F suction and filter unit is compulsory to comply with legal requirements (as of Dec 2016):

2 Safety instructions
When using the mp-LM F suction and filter unit, also referred as the "electrical device", the following basic safety precautions must be observed to protect against electric shock, injury and fire.
Please read and observe all these hints carefully before putting the electrical device into operation.
Keep these safety instructions in a safe place.
Only use the electrical equipment in accordance with the regulations and in accordance with the general safety and accident prevention regulations.
2.1 Usage according to regulations
The mp-LM F suction and filter unit is designed for the extraction of dry, non-combustible dusts, gases and vapors and the separation of non-combustible dusts from non-explosive air mixtures.
Consider environmental influences. Do not use the electrical device in damp or
wet environment. Operation outdoors is prohibited.
Do not use the electrical device near
flammable liquids or explosive gases.
The electrical device must not be used for:
- The suction of carcinogenic and / or toxic gases, vapors or dusts
- The suction of explosive gases, vapors or dusts
- The suction of liquids
- The priming of ignition sources

Attention!
Observe the following notes!
- Never operate a damaged electrical device.
- Never unilaterally open the electrical device.
- For your personal safety, only use original accessories and original spare parts to ensure proper operation of the electrical device.
- The electrical device must be regularly maintained to prevent or eliminate hazards according to the current accident prevention regulations.
- A safety-related test shall be carried out at least once a year, in accordance with the legal general accident prevention regulations.
- This electrical device complies with the relevant safety regulations. Maintenance and repair work, in particular interventions in the electrical system, may only be carried out by specialists or trained personal.
- For this reason, the electrical device should only be repaired by the authorized Murrplastik Service Center.
Any unauthorized modification to the electrical device is prohibited for safety reasons and will lead to the expiration of any demands against the manufacturer!
2.2 Operational reliability
The electrical device is suitable for increased stress in commercial use. Nevertheless, hazards may cause from the electrical device, if it will be
used by persons who are unskilled or have not been instructed, or if it will be used inappropriate or not as provided.

2.3 Safety at work
Before installing and commissioning the electrical device, please read and observe the operating instructions and the safety instructions!
The operator has to designate trained personal for operating and
maintenance. He must be instructed and trained by an authorized
person on initial commissioning. On this occasion, the staff must be
informed of all safety instructions, unauthorized operation and
possible dangers.
The electrical device may only be operated, serviced and repaired
by authorized, trained and instructed staff.
The relevant accident prevention regulations and other generally
accepted safety and occupational medical regulations must be
observed.
It is forbidden to operate in any way that could affect or endanger the safety of persons, the electrical device or the working
environment.
The operator is obligated to report any changes to the electrical device that affect safety, immediately.
Information signs must be observed.
Power off the electrical device and disconnect it from the mains
during longer interruption of work.
In case of danger switch off the electrical device immediately. Always dispose the filter media in accordance with the valid waste
regulations.
Always wear personal protective equipment (protective gloves, respiratory mask class P3) when carrying out maintenance and disassembly work.

2.4 Safety instructions about the electrical system
Connect the electrical device to an AC power supply (230 V / 50-60 Hz) which is fused with a 10 A circuit breaker or a 10 A fuse.
Inspect the power cable periodically for signs of damage. Be careful not to damage the power cable by running over, crushing,
tugging or similar. Protect the power cable from heat, oil and sharp edges. Never carry the electrical device on the power cable. Do not use the power cable to pull the plug out of the socket. Only use the electrical device if the power cable is in perfect technical
condition. When not in use and before cleaning, maintenance as well as opening,
disconnect the electrical device from the power supply. Never clean the electrical device with a liquid jet. Only use original spare parts and original wear parts.
2.5 Safety instructions about fire hazard
The mp-LM F suction and filter unit is intended only for suction of dusts, gases and vapors arising during processing, which are usually incombustible. The filter system is designed for the separation of inert, non-explosive dusts.
Suction of explosive and inflammable mixtures is prohibited!

Check the flammability respectively explosive properties of the resulting dusts, gases and vapors that may occur during the processing procedure before using the electrical device.
In order to be able to assess the risk of explosion and fire as well as
the determination of protective measures, please inform yourself about the safety parameters to know about the expected dust, gases and vapors during processing.
Almost all technical dusts are combustible and therefore can be set on fire by sparks or hot glowing parts.
Exceptions are purely mineral dusts.
There is also a risk of fire when separating metallic dusts if these are, for example, contaminated with oils, varnishes, sanding belt residues, etc. These impurities have fire-promoting properties.
Ignition sources must not be suctioned.
In order to avoid fires and explosions, do not suck ignition sources, e.g.
hot, glowing, smoldering parts, glowing swarfs, smoldering cigarettes etc. into the electrical device!
Since fire hazards cannot be completely preempt, it is recommended to install a fire extinguisher close to the electrical device. Appropriate types of fire extinguishers are
- foam extinguisher
- carbon-dioxide extinguisher
- dry powder extinguisher

In the case of fire: 1. Shut down the electrical device immediately. 2. If possible, close the suction intake to prevent oxygen supply. 3. If possible close the exhaust opening. 4. Set the fire extinguisher in position and inject fire extinguishing agent
into the intake opening. 5. Do not open the residual housing. Please note that the filter materials are also combustible and that toxic gases and vapors are generated during fire.
Liability and warranty in case of fire are explicitly excluded!
2.6 Obligations of the operator
The operator obliged to allow only persons working on the mp-LM F who:
- Are familiar with the regulations on occupational safety and accident prevention.
- Have read and understood the safety and warning signs and have confirmed them by their signature.
The safety-conscious work of the staff will be checked regularly.
2.7 Obligations of the staff
Persons who are charged with work on the mp-LM F obliged, before starting to work:
- To read the safety instructions and to confirm with their signature that they have read and understood these.

2.8 Residual risks
Hazard defense mechanics
All movable parts (fan, motor) are covered by fixed, securely mounted protective devices which can only be removed with tools. Residual risk If a fixed, securely fastened protective device will be removed with a tool while the electrical device is running, injuries are possible.
Hazard defense electrics
All live parts of the electrical device are insulated against human contact or clad by fixed, securely mounted protective devices which can only be removed using a suitable tool. The electrical device complies with protection class II according to EN 60 335.
Residual risk
If a fixed, securely fastened clad will be removed using suitable tool while the power cable is not unplugged, injuries due to electric shock are possible.
Hazard defense pollutants
Only suitable filters for the electrical device may be used. Do not operate the mp-LM F without or with a defective filter.
Residual risk
The use of defective or unsuitable filters may result in health hazards.

Hazard defense disposal
The electrical device and the filter cartridge must be disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations and regulations after the end of their service life.
Residual risk
In case of non-professional disposal there may be a risk to health and environment.
3 Transport and storage
Due to its high weight, the mp-LM F suction and filter unit should be transported on a trolley and raised by at least two persons. Transport should be take place in an upright position.
During unpacking, the mp-LM F suction and filter unit must be investigated for transport damage. Transport damage are to be reported immediately to the logistics contractor and Murrplastic for adjustment of a claim.
A damaged mp-LM F suction and filter unit must not be put into operation.
The following requirements must be observed for transport and storage:
Temperature: -25 °C until 55 °C
Short-term (24 h max): until 70 °C
Air humidity: not condensing

4 Scope of delivery
Upon receipt of the mp-LM F suction and filter unit check the shipment for completeness. Please keep the outer packaging in case the electrical device needs to be sent in for service or repair. Scope of delivery: 1. mp-LM F including filter unit

Note
The suction hose to be connected with the mp-LM laser unit is part of the scope of delivery of the mp-LM laser unit.

5 Installation
The mp-LM F suction and filter unit is equipped with four movable rollers. In this way, it can be moved to the intended space, which must be level and horizontal. At the final position, the unit is to be fixed by means of the two lockable rollers. In order to ensure safe maintenance and an unobstructed clean gas outlet, a minimum distance must be observed for other machines and building parts. The minimum distances are:
- all-round at least 0.1 m
- to the top in the opening direction of the lid at least 0.5 m

6 Putting into operation
A complete visual inspection of the fully assembled mp-LM F suction and filter unit should be carried out before commissioning. Special attention should be given to the following:
- Air-tight closed suction conduit system
- Correctly applied filter unit
- All inspection openings tightly closed
- Electrical installation according to regulations
- Check that no foreign objects (such as cleaning rags, tools, etc.) are sucked in during commissioning
1. Connect the mp-LM F suction and filter unit and the mp-LM laser
unit with the supplied 4-pin connecting cable. Tighten the plugs on each end.
2. Plug the supplied power cable into the mains power jack of the mp-LM F suction and filter unit and connect the power cable to an AC power supply (230 V / 50-60 Hz) fused with a 10 A line circuit breaker or a fuse of 10 A.

3. Press the ON button to turn the electrical device on. When the
device is switched on, the LED above the ON button is lit.
If the mp-LM F is connected to the mp-LM laser via 4-pin control cable and a control signal is present, the mp-LM F's fan switches itself on automatically.
4. The fan can be manually switched on and off by pressing the middle fan button.
The LED above the fan button signals a consumed filter and thus indicates a filter to be changed.
5. The suction power of the mp-LM F suction and filter unit can be adjusted with the UP and DOWN keys.
6. Press the OFF button to turn the electrical device off.
Caution: Never operate the mp-LM F suction and filter unit without a filter.

7 Service and maintenance
The maintenance of the mp-LM F suction and filter unit is limited to checking and changing the filter unit. Daily inspection
- Check the filter status and, if necessary, change the filter unit Montly service
- Check the suction line system
- Control the detection unit Annual general inspection
- General inspection with safety test
Carry out maintenance work in the electrical voltage-free state of the device, only. Observe the following issues:
- Switch off the device and secure it against restarting
- Wait for fan downtime
- Pull the mains plug
Always wear personal protective equipment (protective gloves, respiratory mask class P3) when carrying out maintenance and disassembly work.
After completion of the maintenance work, install all protective devices and pipe connections properly and close the inspection openings.

8 Filter unit
The filter unit consists of a storage filter system with active carbon supply. The filter unit is used to filter gases, vapors, odors and finest suspended matter.
8.1 Filter change
A necessary filter exchange is signaled by lighting the filter LED. In this case, the filter should absolutely be changed. 1. Remove the suction hose from the mp-LM F suction and filter unit.

2. Loosen the four knurled screws on the top of the mp-LM F.
3. Lift the mp-LM F lid.

4. Lift the filter unit out of the housing of the mp-LM F.
Install the filter unit into the mp-LM F suction and filter unit in reverse order.
Used filters must be properly disposed of according to applicable regional regulations.
