Notes & Process on how tosFrom Arkansas

Leaned how toHow to strip a floorBuffing or top scrubbing to waxCarpet Cleaning

Notes: Never blame one of your employees in front of the principles or teachers Just say I will take care of it and it will not happen again. Then talk to the employee in private.Check epay everyday either first thing or last thing Make sure no one cross contaminates , especially with the bathrooms and classroomsRelationships should not be in the same building mom dad, brother sister , boyfriend girlfriendWhite pad is to buff after wax is done to make it shine more. This also helps harden the wax and helps it to cure faster. When waxing you enter the room turn off the AC however when you leave the room make sure the air is on and below 72 with the air circulating Waxed with flat mop and backpackTrick to see if wax is still wet: take a white sheet of paper place it on the floor if the paper slides with ease than the wax is dry if it is sticky wax is still wet. To test if area is ready to wax, mop with clean water, how it looks wet should be how it looks waxed.Sapon has so many uses read label to see mix ratio ( Purple is better that the clear kind) The purple is Sapon, The clear is Sapon NG which is the green version. The NG needs to be mixed stronger for same resultsLow speed are also called side by side or slow speeds, there are many other names that people call themDocument everything and anything when it comes to your employees Have an open line with your manager and regional manager

Pad infoThere are numerous pad types out there and they do vary by manufacturer but below is some of the most common that are stocked in our Warehouse.

Most aggressive to least3M EraserI have not used these for some time. In certain situations may dull wax and you will have to buff with a softer pad afterwards.Full Hair Pad (aka Hogs Hair, Grizzly Hair, Horse Hair)really good for most 25% waxes, but be cautions if floors are uneven as it is more apt to leave burn marks in catalogue it is currently called Combo ultraBlend Pad A combination of Full Hair and White. Good daily buffing pad.Aqua- better with softer waxes. May leave color behind on high spots on uneven floor.Champagne Pad-doesnt remove as many scratches and scuffs but may have higher shine.White-softest pad. Good for fresh wax or for giving higher shine after buffing with more aggressive pad. Not as relevant with 25% waxes.

Scrub pads3m supper strip- thin black pad. Most aggressive stripping pad.Black pad-thick pad, for top scrubbing and some stripping applicationsBlue/Green pad-for light top scrubbing or stone floors without finishRed pad-everyday scrubbing pad for auto scrubbers, also for very light top scrub. technically usually a buffing pad intended for spray buffing with a low speedWhite pad-same as white buffing pad, some prefer to use this on gym floors, though I have not had problems with the red but would recommend having a separate set just for gym floor if red is used. Maroon pads are designed to use without chemicals. Either the thin ones with just plain water as we used or the thick ones with the dry method you were using in Texas.

For ceramic tile I recommend the Nylon grit brush(replaces drive block on low speed machine) or the 3M grout brush (use under drive block). I have started using the 3M grout Brush paired with the SSC branded grout avenger for ceramic tile and have had excellent results.

As I mentioned several factors can influence the best type of pad for your situation. If you have any questions let me know.

The Hard Truth About Soft SkillsThe book report that I had to doNotes from book: While hard skills refer to the technical ability and the factual knowledge needed to do the job, soft skills allow you to more effectively use your technical abilities and knowledge. Soft skills are generally viewed as nice to have ---maybe even something you are just born with but not critical for success. A simple thank you from the manager can have a dramatic impact on the companys bottom line!Soft skills training -which typically focused on communication and leadership was provided as needed, primarily for top executives. Increasing workplace and customer diversity across age, gender, racial, and ethnic lines along with business globalization and virtual office have only heightened the need for strengthening soft skills competency.
