Science Field Trip

cent field trip.

Toyota Athletes of the Year

Page 4 Academy Action

Lady Blazer Soccer

UHA student Chelsea Cansler was named the 2015 Toyota Softball Play-

er of the Year. Cansler, a 2015 graduate, finished her senior year

with .528 batting average, six homeruns, 30 singles, 12 doubles, seven

triples, 39 RBI’s. She also helped the Blazers defeat the Christian County

Colonels for the first time in school history. Congratulations Chelsea!

Hendley Traughber was named 2015 Toyota of Hopkinsville

Boy’s Tennis Athlete of the year. Traughber, who graduated

in May, helped bring a doubles regional championship home

earlier this year. He has played tennis for the Blazers since

his fifth grade year. Congratulations Hendley!

The Lady Blazer Soccer team has had a terrific

start to their season. The Blazers went 9-0

before suffering a loss in the All “A” Sub-

Sectional State Tournament. One of their ear-

ly wins was against cross-town rivals the Hop-

kinsville Tigers. It was the first time the Blaz-

er had beaten the Tigers in seven years and

the win broke Hopkinsville’s 31 game winning

streak against district opponents. The Blazers

have spent most of the season ranked number

one in the district and are getting ready for an

exciting run in the upcoming district tourna-

ment. Congratulations Lady Blazers!

Each year UHA participates in United Way’s annual cam-paign, and the faculty and staff always have 100% contribu-tion. This year the Blazers also participated in the second an-nual dodgeball tournament fundraiser for United Way, and UHA won the middle-high school division. It’s always great to see our UHA family helping with community endeavors!

Homecoming & Oktoberfest

Page 6 Academy Action

Homecoming and Oktoberfest were held in early October. In keeping with tradition, each

grade hosted a game booth and the gym was decorated for a day of family fun. The Blazer

Bakery was also open for business with many treats to buy. The day was a great success!

To top things off , the Blazer soccer team held their homecoming game and Marcus Smith

and Jenna Shouse were named king and queen. Congratulations!
