•Suggesting the setting up an Independent Biotechnology Regulatory Authority of India(BRAI)•Development and use of GM crops following science based methods•Assure Intellectual Property protection that encourages Innovation •Enable Clinical Trials to be conducted in a transparent and efficient manner to enable development and access to safe and efficacious medicines in a timely manner.•Make India a global hub for fermentation based industries.
