PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE I hope everyone enjoyed
the Queen’s Birthday long
weekend.
Last week I had the pleasure
of taking the Captains: Jude,
Ainsley, Mason and Mel to
Wagga Wagga City Council
for a student session to
provide feedback about the
next stage of the Riverside
Development. We were one
of four schools in
attendance. All four
students did a wonderful
job brainstorming ideas and
I was incredibly proud of
each and everyone one of
them. It will be a fabulous
space for children and
families once it is
completed.
We are looking at getting some playground signs done. If we have any parents who might be able to help us with this,
we’d love to hear from you.
We are still on the lookout for second hand Lego. If you have any or know of anyone who has some please let us know.
A huge thank you to the P & C for providing the school with a $500 cheque to buy equipment for our lunchtime groups.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Have a fabulous short week!

KINDERGARTEN ENROLMENTS 2020
It is now time to enrol your child in Kindergarten for next year! You can either pop into the office to collect an enrolment form or you can print one off from the NSW Department of Education website. If you are aware of anyone who is within our school zone, and who has a child who is commencing school in 2020, please encourage them to visit the school so they can be added to our mailing list and collect an enrolment package. Please return enrolment forms as soon as possible to the school office on completion, so details can be entered into our system.
Best wishes to our Cross Country Team on
Thursday, who are travelling to Gundagai to
compete in the Riverina Cross Country. We are
lucky to have 6 students attending!
Good luck Mason, Melanie, Chase, Myer,
Jordyn and Scarlett
PINK CLASS STEM CHALLENGE Today in Pink Class we had a great STEM challenge. Our challenge was to fit as many students standing safely in a one metre square area. In Panther group, our design or plan was to fit four people along one side of a one metre ruler. We multiplied that by four and our answer was 16, but we took one away to make it ‘safer’. This was our estimate. The other groups came up with some other estimates which were very different from ours. The most popular was 8. Some thought 11, and one group thought just five students could stand safely. Then we actually went outside and we brought a piece of chalk and a one metre ruler and also a book (the book was used for the corners to help us make a 90 degree angle). When we were outside we got our one metre ruler, our chalk and our book and drew the lines on the cement. Then we tested our estimates! Everyone helped each other to see how many students could fit safely into each 1 metre square area. Finally, after much fun, we discovered that the best we could do was 14!! The Panther’s estimated 15, so we had the closest answer to the real thing. It was a great challenge! By Benji Orban and Travis Plum
WHITE CLASS STEM - ‘THE RUBE GOLDBERG CHALLENGE’ The Rube Goldberg Challenge presents students with the challenge of designing and building a chain reaction machine to
complete a simple task. It takes students through the innovation process of think, make, try and refine. This task allows
students to learn from their mistakes, which is integral and invaluable to the learning process as a whole.
Great learning opportunities
for White Class
students!!
DRAWING ENRICHMENT CLASS WITH MS MULROONEY
Students from K-2 using their creative skills while
involved in the Drawing Enrichment Class. The aim of
the class was to explore charcoal and soft pastels.
Thank you Ms Mulrooney for giving your students this
great opportunity!
