GIFT 2 RENEW Capital Campaign Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. (Proverbs 3, 9-10) We are a parish family and together we thank God for all the support he gave us to make this possible. Our first fruits have produced an amazing facility in which we can spread God’s word and evangelize through our ministries! God has been good to us. We are now entering our GIFT 2 RENEW phase of our capital campaign. Now is the time to consider renewing our commitment and making a pledge for 3 more years. For those who have yet to make a pledge, please do so. Your gift will begin immediately or it will renew and add to your unfinished commitment and begin once the initial pledge is fulfilled. We completed the building with your spiritual strength and financial support. You created, endured, and began payments for the magnificent changes to our Parish Campus. All our ministries should keep these facilities full and busy to keep your mission effective! We raised approximately $3.3 million of the $6.1 million total cost of the project. Now, we need to recommit our prayer spirit and financial resources to raise the other $2.546,526 dollars. Please use our website and pledge to give through your bank account, credit card or check. If you wish to make a pledge on paper, we will also welcome them in the basket or in the office. In our very first week since Father Joseph’s request, we had 98 families come forward and inspire us by saying, “here is the next three-year pledge for our family”, pledging $253,474. May God continue blessing your Heart.

What is an Advent Wreath? During Advent and Christmas, festively decorated evergreen wreaths land in windows and on doors everywhere. In many churches and homes, it’s also common to see special wreaths lying on tables or ledg-es, adorned with four candles (usually three purple and one pink). This familiar symbol of the season is the Advent wreath. Traditionally the Advent wreath is a circle of evergreen branches. Both the evergreen branches and the circular shape symbolize the passing of time and eternal life. The shape of the wreath, with no begin-ning or end, reflects the complete and endless love that Jesus has for us. During the Advent season, we eagerly anticipate His coming and the promise of eternal life in heaven with him. Estamos en tiempo de Adviento ¿Sabías que la palabra “adviento” viene del latín, y quiere decir ‘la

llegada’? El tiempo de Adviento está conformado de cuatro semanas que la Iglesia nos da para preparar la llegada de Cristo en Navidad. ¿Por qué cuatro semanas? Ante todo, porque la Navidad –la llegada de Cristo al mundo– es una realidad tan importante, que no la podemos “digerir” de la noche a la mañana. Nadie prepara una boda la noche anterior. Como seres humanos, necesitamos tiempo para darnos cuenta de lo que viene, a fin de celebrarlo correctamente. También necesitamos tiempo de preparación, pues en Navidad, Cristo llega para cada uno de nosotros. Pide posada en nuestro corazón y, si somos honestos, nuestro corazón no siempre es la posada más agradable y limpia. El Adviento nos da tiempo para prepararla y limpiarla, para recibir bien al Niño Jesús en la Nochebuena. El siguiente paso es de apartar un momento de silencio cada día. No tiene que ser mucho: pueden ser tres minutitos, por ejemplo. Pero tres minutitos enteros en que me retiro, hago silencio y me acuerdo que Cristo viene en Navidad. ¡Cristo viene en Navidad! Si logras hacer esto diariamente, tu experiencia de la Navidad este año será muy diferente, y muy especial. En cambio, si no estableces momentos de silencio en tu Adviento, de repente será año nuevo y ni te ha-brás dado cuenta de la llegada personal del Señor…
