The Impact of COVID-19The CRC would like to thank our members and the

community for the generous support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. As the building reopens to the public and

activities begin again, the CRC is committed to ensuring thecontinued health and safety of the island community.

All summer 2021 programs will have smaller capacities,require social distancing, and will take place outdoors when

possible. All visitors and participants must continue to wear amask in the building and while enjoying CRC programs andevents. Thank you for your support and understanding, and

we look forward to seeing you this summer!

How to RegisterYou can register for programs online at chebeaguerec.com/programs.Programs marked as "drop in" do not require any pre-registration.

PaymentsPayments are due prior to the start date of each program at the time ofregistration. All payments can be made online. Cash is accepted at drop-inprograms at the start of the program.If you are experiencing financial hardship, the CRC is able to providediscounts and scholarships. Cost should never be a barrier - just give us acall!

CancellationsIf we cancel a course or you withdraw before the first class, we will refundall fees. If you withdraw after the first class, no refund will be given.

Other ways to get involved

Can't get enough of the Rec? We can always use more help running ourprograms and events. If you would like to volunteer to help run an activity, be amoderator for the teen center, or even have your own idea for a program, getin touch!

The Rec is also a great place for teens to get valuable volunteer and communityservice experience, and have fun doing it.

This year, we are offering free swimming and water safetylessons for CRC members' children under 10 years of age. Ourlifeguard scholarship program also allows participating teens tobecome lifeguard certified and volunteer at the CRC pool thissummer for a $1500 educational scholarship.

The support we recieve for the pool every year is invaluable,especially in being able to offer these programs. We appreciateyour commitment to making sure the pool is a safe andsustainable community asset.

Summer 2021 at the Pool

The pool will be open this summer! As with all of the CRC'sfacilities and programs, visitors will be required to wear a maskon the deck and follow social distancing guidelines.

FeesCRC Members use the pool at no additional cost.Non-members can use the pool during adult lap swim or open swim at $10 perday per person. Buy a 10-punch pass, good for 10 visits to the pool and fitnessroom, for $90. Members can buy a 10-punch pass for their guests for $70.

Swim lessons are free for children and grandchildren of CRC members under 10years of age.

Come with your family or meet up with your friends at theCRC at our Family Fun Nights! Different activities will beannounced for each Saturday, including outdoor movienights, mini golf nights, and dance parties! Buy snacks andrefreshments from our snack shack, and come hang out.

Friday Reading ProgramFridays, 9-11 am | Ages 3+

We'll do activities with reading and writing, and encouragekids to grow a love for learning! This program will cater tokids at varying reading levels.

Family Fun Nights at the RecSome Saturdays, 7-9pm | Open to all ages

Come be with your friends at the Teen Center! Play some basketball, have avideo game session, or just hang out. Masks and distancing will be required.Bring in a filled out contract to participate (find them on our website!)

We can’t do an overnight trip this year, but you can still experience a dayof adventures and build leadership skills with Rippleffect on Cow Island!Scholarships are available for this program - just contact us. (7-14 participants)

This weekly series will feature a different exciting project for teens to build.We will learn how to create things like screen printing fabrics, spraypaintingand graffiti, origami, book-making, and more!

Summer CampsFarm Camp July 5-9

Have you ever been curious about what goes on at a farm? This camp is anopportunity to get outside and learn all the operations of a farm. Help Chuck atSecond Wind Farm and have fun at the same timd. We will plant vegetables, makecrafts out of wood and found objects, walk in the woods, learn the history offarming on Chebeague, and more!

9:30am - 12:30pmAges 5-11Fee: $130 for members | $150 for non-members

Soccer Camps July 12-16In the morning, older kids will play and practice individually and in small groups tofocus on skill development and mastery of core techniques. Mini soccer in theafternoon will offer a safe and fun environment to learn soccer fundamentalsthrough a range of animated activities and fun games! Program includes a ball andjersey.

Art Camp August 2-6Get your art on in this week-long camp featuring a variety of projects! We'll learnhow to make things like birdhouses, plaster sculptures, charcoal drawings,painting, and more!

Tennis Camp August 9-13

The Great Chebeague Tennis Club and the Chebeague Recreation Center are co-sponsoring this junior camp. This week is all about learning the basic skills oftennis, volleying, and match play. A wonderful way to get outside and learn alifelong game!

Golf Camp July 26-30The Great Chebeague Golf Club and the Chebeague Recreation Center are co-sponsoring this week-long junior golf camp. The mornings will consist of 1.5 hoursof hands-on instruction and 1.5 hours of golf on the course, including on-courseinstruction.

We are still planning for a summer with Covid, soall of our rehearsals and performances for ourbeloved children's theater program will remain

distanced and outdoors this year!

About the DirectorShannon Geary has been a music teacher for 16 years in New Castle, PA, and a

lover of theatre her whole life. She has acted in and directed numerous school andcommunity theatre productions since childhood. Shannon studied vocal

performance and music education at Grove City College. She is currently thedirector of vocal music at New Castle Jr./Sr. High School, where she has nearly

200 choir members. Shannon looks forward to working with your children on thisproduction and inspiring them to have a love for the arts like she does.
