Thanksgiving Day Mass November 22 9 a.m.

The traditional thanksgiving meal is more than an occasion to get togeth-er and eat a big meal. It is also a time to remember the gifts given to us by God and to give thanks. To make this meal even more special, Fr Carlos will bless items for your meal following the Thanksgiving morn-ing Mass. Please feel free to bring a special item you are planning to serve (usually a bottle of wine or bread) and place it in front of the ambo before Mass.

Angel Tree

The angel tree will be available on December 1st and 2nd. All gifts will need to be returned the following weekend to be distributed in time for Christmas. Please only take a tag if you can return it on time.

First Annual Golf Tournament The Ellijay Council of The Knights of Columbus will be hosting our first annu-al benefit golf tournament on April 24th, at the Whitepath Golf Course. All proceeds will benefit our local charities. We are seeking potential spon-sors. Major sponsorship is $200 and Hole sponsorship is $75. If you are a business owner, or if you know a business owner, and you feel that you can help with sponsorship, please contact Dave Bennett at: [email protected]

Thank you for your cont inued generosity!

Reflections on Gospel Reading as it Applies to Stewardship

Today’s readings are in stark contrast to the joy of the holiday season that is fast approaching, warning us instead of dark times ahead and our inevitable judgment day. However, when we firmly establish for ourselves as individuals — as a family and as a parish that we will give to God the first and best portion of our Time, Talent, and Treasure — the warn-ings we read in the Scriptures today should be no cause for alarm. In fact, we can view these words as encouragement — “Keep Calm and Steward On,” no matter what comes our way.
