S ome people see a glass half-filled with water as half empty.

And that’s how they see life as well.

They complain for what is lacking.

They keep looking for what is not there.

But there are people who are grateful of what they already have.

They utilize what is already there.

And they always find success.

In life, winners or losers are not determined by intelligence, talent or resources.

Winners have positive mindset.

Our life is indeed a reflection of our attitude. Without even noticing it, it

can be easy to become negative and cynical towards the world as we are

continuously exposed to tragedy and injustice in the media and as we

experience our own heartache and distress.

Not only is a negative attitude preventing you from fully enjoying your

life, it can have a significant impact on your environment. The energy a






person brings with them is contagious. One of the best things you can

offer your family, organization or community is your positive attitude.

In the wise words of Michael Jackson, “If

you want to make the world a better

place, take a look at yourself and make a

change.” As creatures of habit, by making

small adjustments to your daily life and

mindset, positive habits can be formed to

The Little Things that Make Big Differences.

T here was a man taking a morning walk at the beach. He saw

that along with the morning tide came hundreds of starfish and

when the tide receded, they were left behind and with the

morning sun rays, they would die. The tide was fresh and the starfish

were alive. The man took a few steps, picked one and threw it into the

water. He did that repeatedly. Right behind him there was another per-

son who couldn’t understand what this man was doing. He caught up

with him and asked, “What are you doing? There are hundreds of star-

fish. How many can you help? What difference does it make?” This man

did not reply, took two more steps, picked up another one, threw it into






the water, and said, “It makes a

difference to this one.”

What difference are we making? Big

or small, it does not matter. If every-

one made a small difference, we’d

end up with a big difference, would-

n’t we?

Meaningless Goals.

A farmer had a dog who used to sit by the roadside waiting for

vehicles to come around. As soon as one came he would run

down the road, barking and trying to overtake it. One day a

neighbor asked the farmer “Do you think your dog is ever going to catch

a car?” The farmer replied, “That is not what bothers me. What bothers

me is what he

would do if he

ever caught

one.”

Many people in

life behave like

that dog who is

pursuing mean-

ingless goals.






How would You Like to be Remembered?

A bout a hundred years ago, a man looked at the morning news-

paper and to his surprise and horror, read his name in the obi-

tuary column. The newspapers had reported the death of the

wrong person by mistake. His first response was shock. Am I here or

there? When he regained his composure, his second thought was to find

out what people had said about him. The obituary read, “Dynamite King

Dies.” And also “He was the merchant of death.” This man was the inven-

tor of dynamite and when he read the words “merchant of death,” he

asked himself a question, “Is this how I am going to be remembered?”

He got in touch with his feelings and decided that this was not the way

he wanted to be remembered. From that day on, he started working to-

ward peace. His name was Alfred Nobel and he is remembered today by

the great Nobel Prize.

Just as Alfred Nobel got in touch with his feelings and redefined his val-

ues, we should step back

and do the same.

What is your legacy?

The Obstacles in Our Path.

I n ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he

hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge

rock. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came

by and simply walked around it.

Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none

did anything about getting the big stone out of the way. Then a peasant

came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder,

the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side

of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. As

the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in

the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold

coins and a note

from the king indi-

cating that the gold

was for the person

who removed the

boulder from the

roadway. The peas-

ant learned what

many others never

understand.

Everyone is Important.

D uring Mark’s

first month of

college, the

professor gave his stu-

dents a pop quiz. He was

a conscientious student

and had breezed through

the questions, until he

read the last one: “What

is the first name of the

woman who cleans the

school?” Surely this was

some kind of joke. He

had seen the cleaning

woman several times.

She was tall, dark-haired

and in her 50s, but how

would he know her name? He handed in his paper, leaving the last ques-

tion blank.

Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would

count toward the quiz grade. “Absolutely,” said the professor. “In your ca-

reers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They each deserve

your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say ‘hello’”. Mark

never forgot that lesson. He also learned her name was Dorothy.






Everyone has a Story in Life.

A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train’s window shouted…

“Dad, look the trees are going behind!”

Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24

year old’s childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed…

“Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”

The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man…

“Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?”

The old man smiled and said…

“I did and we just came from the hospital, my son was blind from birth,

he just got his eyes today.

Every single person on the planet has a story. Don’t judge people before

you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.






W e have many blessings in our life. But other people

still look for what is lacking. Tell the person you

love "don't be like that, please". Look at the bless-

ings. Look at what is there and you will have blessings. You are the prod-

uct of your thought, you are the product of your belief. And those who

look for what is lacking will never be happy. In life, there are winners and

losers. And I assure you that those who look at the blessings are the real

winners.

Before we talk about how to develop a positive mindset. Let me tell you

first about the 5 great things or blessings of having a positive mindset. I

just want to convince you that you need to have a positive mindset.






Blessing #1: You increase your self-worth.

I f you have a positive mind-

set, you’ll be able to see the

goodness in you, the beauty

in you. What other people cannot

see, you’ll able to see that there’s

something wonderful in you, your

inner greatness. Believe in your-

self. Say this:

I am beautiful. I am wonderful. I

am great. Every fiber of our hu-

man being is made in the image

and likeness of God.

Blessing #2: You grow in

endurance.

I f you have a positive mindset, you’ll

be able to see the light after the

tunnel. If you’re going through

some problems now, you know that

it is going to end one day. And one day the blessings will come to you.






Blessing #3: You enjoy your relationships

more.

I f you have a positive mindset, you’ll going to enjoy your marriage

life more, your children more, and your parents more, your friends

more, etc. The reason for this is because you see the goodness in

them. You see the beauty in them. You are not looking for what is lacking

on them, instead look for that which is there. With this said, it is easier

to forgive, to forget if you have a positive mindset.






Blessing #4: You are more

successful in life.

I f you have a positive mindset, you’ll

be able to see the opportunities of

growth, development, abundance.

Somebody who does not have positive

mindset will be thinking that there’s no

opportunity to him, there’s nothing for

him here, that it’s hard to earn money.

a happier person.

I f you have a positive

mindset, you’ll be a hap-

pier person. Are you con-

ceed to talk about how to de-

velop a positive mindset.






Step #1: Focus on your blessings.

Y ou may have problems, trials, but still focus on your bless-

ings. You must focus on the blessings, not on the problem, not

on the struggles. When you focus on the blessings then more

blessings will come. Blessings are in your life. Know your blessings and

acknowledged them, be grateful for them. Be thankful for them.

Live your life with purpose. Focus on your blessings, not your misfor-

tunes. Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Be yourself and

don't wait for the approval of others. But most importantly, have a posi-

tive and humble mind-

set no matter what sit-

uation you are in.

Count your blessings,

not your problems,

and you will realize

how beautiful your life

truly is.






Step #2: Affirm your divine identity.

A cknowledge that you are a child of God. That God loves you,

He has a plan for your life. You can do all things with God. Pro-

claim these each and everyday. See Bible verses below.






Step #3: Have

positive friends.

Y ou must have

positive friends.

They have the

ability to affirm, to see the

good inside you, to see the

blessings. But if some of

your friends are does not

have a positive mindset, still

maintain them, because

they need you. It is you who

will help them become pos-

itive. But then most of your

time should be to hang-out

with positive people. Posi-

tive people are those who

love life.

Friends are good for you but positive, upbeat pals are the real gems in

life. They're the ones that will rally behind you, offer a smile and a hug,

and leave you feeling better about yourself. Ideally, we should spend

more time with encouraging friends and less time working through

things with our more negatives friends.

This seems like a simple concept, expect that people aren't always totally

positive or completely crabby, either.






Sometimes friends are downright rude or mean and other times they are

generous and supportive. Look at a friend's overall character when de-

ciding if someone is a good influence in your life or not. Just reflecting

back on how you feel when you're with them can give you the insight

you need.

Step #4: Feel the love.

W hen your

parents,

siblings,

partner, children love

you, feel their love.

Indulge, savor in their

love for you. When

your mother does

something for you, feel

the love. When your

wife cooks something

for you, feel the love. When your husband fetches you from work, feel

the love. Close your eyes and absorb the love, make it part of you and

you’ll going to be a more positive person.

I also encourage to feel the love of our God. Feeling loved by God means

feeling glad not only that He crushed His son so that we can be forgiven,

but that He's crushing everything that takes away from my praising of

the glory of His grace.






Step #5: Keep dreaming.

K eep dreaming, keep on writing all your dreams. Keep on

growing. You can conquer whatever problem or struggles

you’re into because you are still growing.

Friends, you need to understand that winners are first and foremost

dreamers. It only after they have establish their dreams that they make

up their minds to remain unstoppable until they win.

In effect, if you don’t have a dream, you have nothing to fight for.

Friends, you are truly born to win, but do you have a dream through

which you can unleash the winner in you? What is this dream about?

Can you beautifully paint the dream on paper? Can you clearly describe

the dream?






Look, you need to be able to positively answer all the questions above.

This is because it’s the only way you can see yourself making a claim for

your portion of the goodies and pleasures of this life.

There is no doubt that it is always better to dream than not to dream.

But most importantly, as you dream, you need to believe in your dream.

Because dreams thrive on believe. And as you believe, work on achieving

them because your level of work will demonstrate your level of believe






Step #6: Confess the good.

4 Rules on How to Confess the Good:

1 It has to be stated in the positive way not the negative.

You want to lose weight. Instead of saying: “I’m no longer 10lbs

overweight”, Say this “I’m now 120lbs”.

2 Affirmations are more effective if you include your name.

You want to be more patient. Instead of saying: “I’m a patient

mother”, Say this “I, “say your name” am a patient mother”.

3 Affirmations must be say in present tense.

On being a successful entrepreneur. Instead of saying: “I, “say

your name” will be a successful entrepreneur”, Say this “I, “say

your name” am a successful entrepreneur”.

4 Affirmations must be specific.

On being wealth. Instead of saying: “I, “say your name” am

wealthy”, Say this “I, “say your name” am earning $2,000 extra

on my passive income every month”.






Step# 7: Trust in God.

Y ou cannot be

positive if you

do not trust in

God. In the

midst of all your strug-

gles, problems, God is at

work. He is harnessing

you, molding you.

This is a critical step to

develop a positive mindset. I would like then to share to you how to

trust in the Lord with all your heart.

1. Don’t Depend on You

W e live in a world where trust must be earned and seems to be in

short supply. But Solomon, the famous king who wrote Prov-

erbs, knew that trust is

exactly where we must

start:

Trust in the LORD with

all your heart and lean

not on your own under-

standing (Proverbs 3:5)






Most of us have faced disappointments, which have taught us that we

can only depend upon ourselves. But living the life God has called us to

means unlearning that lesson. Instead, we’re meant to rest in God’s un-

derstanding.

We may know in our minds that He possesses all wisdom:

“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How

unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!” Romans

11:33

But sometimes trusting Him completely like that can be tough. So, each

day we must consciously lay aside our own plans and expectations—and

surrender to His plans.

What if we don’t feel like we can trust Him like that? That’s where step 2

comes in…

2. Cry out to God

S urrendering to

God begins

with our lips and our

thoughts. We need

more than a commit-

ment to depend on

Him; we need to cry

out to Him to show that dependence.

“in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths

straight” (Proverbs 3:6)






When we pray, we admit that His ways are higher than ours. We show

that we’re leaving our troubles and burdens and dreams in His capable

hands. In fact, the Bible promises that when we reach out to Him in pray-

er, He hears us:

“Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.

” (Psalm 55:17)

We handed the keys of our lives to Him, and we know that He’s able to

lead us. But in order for that to work, we have to…

3. Run from Evil

S o much in this world can clutter up our relationship with God. John,

the writer of the fourth gospel, describes them as the desires of the

flesh, the lusts of the

eyes, and the pride in

our lives (1 John 2:16).

In other words, our

blessings can easily be-

come our stumbling

blocks when we think

of them as what we

deserve or what we

need to be happy.

Instead, life works best when we remember the true source of our bless-

ings—God—and focus on the things that please Him:

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun

evil.” (Proverbs 3:7)






Sometimes, the only way to live the life God wants us to live is by sepa-

rating ourselves from the bad influences that keep dragging us down.

That works the best when we start pursuing something else in their

place:

“Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and

peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” (2

Timothy 2:22)

Is that easy? Not at all. Fleeing from the evil desires that pull at us means

spending a lot of time crying out to God and leaning on Him. But our

Creator promises to honor our commitment to Him when we shun evil:

“This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your

bones.” (Proverbs 3:8)

When we pursue Him, we find life—abundant life. Running from evil and

pursuing God doesn’t come naturally to most of us. Instead, it means we

have to make a serious change:

4. Put God First in

Your Life

I t’s easiest to put our-

selves first. When

something good hap-

pens, we want to con-

gratulate ourselves with

a reward. When some-

thing bad happens, we want to console ourselves or find someone to

blame. In other words, we often have a “me-centric” starting place.






And when it comes to money, the struggle is even harder. But Solomon,

who had quite a bit of wealth himself, knew that his money didn’t be-

long to him:

“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops;

then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over

with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9–10)

If we can trust God with the first of our wealth, we’re truly showing how

much we depend on Him. Handing over the first part of our paycheck

takes a huge amount of faith, after all. But doing so means being God-

centric.

To get there, though, make sure you…

5. Check Yourself by God’s Word

L et’s be honest. We aren’t so good at evaluating ourselves. We will

go to great lengths to excuse our behavior, our actions, and our

sins. Who needs a defense attorney when we can pretty much find a rea-

son for any bad thing we do? The prophet Jeremiah captures this very

well:

“The heart is deceitful above

all things and beyond cure.

Who can understand

it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

If we’re ever going to truly

trust in God and flee evil, we

have to know exactly where






we stand. We have to find an objective measure that tells us the truth.

And that truth comes from God and His Word.

Of course, that doesn’t mean we’ll always like what we see or how we

see it:

“My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his re-

buke” (Proverbs 3:11)

That’s right. Sometimes it takes something bad happening or seeing our-

selves in a bad light before we finally admit that we need to change. And

the more we’re in the Bible, the more likely this is to happen.

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against

you.” (Psalm 119:11)

When we have Scripture planted firmly in our hearts, God will often use

that to deal with us.

6. Listen to the Holy Spirit

W hen Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to the church, He

told His disciples that this Counselor would be their spiritual

compass or GPS:

“But the Counselor, the

Holy Spirit, whom the

Father will send in my

name, will teach you all

things and will remind

you of everything I have






said to you.” (John 14:26)

As we go through our day, this same Holy Spirit guides us, too. That

means we don’t have to go it alone or hope we’re getting it right. No,

the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth and protects us:

“Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the

help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.” (2 Timothy 1:14)

After all, the gift of the Holy Spirit to us believers reminds us that we can

truly…

7. Rest in God’s Love

W hen we face a difficult world each day, we can sometimes won-

der if God even cares. Why do bad things happen? Where is

God when I need Him? Solomon reminds us that God never takes a

break or leaves us to fend for ourselves:

“because the

LORD disciplines

those he loves, as

a father the son

he delights

in.” (Proverbs

3:12)

Even in the midst

of turmoil, God

sticks with us and

uses those chal-






lenges to shape us. When we understand that, our perspective com-

pletely flips. No longer do we see our setbacks as failures; we see them

as moments when God, as our loving Father, works on us.

And that’s exactly why we can trust in the Lord with all our hearts. He

cares for us each and every day. He gives us what we need to thrive. He

pours blessing after blessing upon us.

Of course, following each of these daily steps isn’t easy. That’s why Jesus

said we have to deny ourselves and follow Him (Matthew 16:24).

Trusting God takes a whole-hearted commitment from dawn till dusk.

But we’re never alone in it:

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew

28:20b)






H ere are my top six Bible verses about thinking in a

positive way.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is

honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,

whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is

anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

H ave you ever heard the phrase “You’re not what you think

you are…what you think, you are”? That seems to be true.

Whatever we think about, dwell upon, and contemplate

tends to be our mindset. We are what we think and that is a choice we

can make. We cannot control circumstances but we can control how we






think about them. If we think on excellent things, we’ll tend to respond

to life excellently.

Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed

spirit dries up the bones.”

T here is no doubt about the fact that laughter or joyfulness is

good for the human body. A joyful heart is a healthier heart

and that person typically has a longer lifespan, a reduced risk

of cancer and disease, less stress, and is a person that people love to

be around. And, joy seems to be contagious too so spread that around

by having a joyful or joy-filled heart.

Hebrews 13:5 “So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper;

I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

F ear is the opposite of courage but it can also show a lack of

trust, particularly in God. What can any man do to us since

we are firm in the grasp of Jesus and God the Father (John

10:28-29)? We know that Jesus will turn no one away that comes to

Him as He says “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and

whoever comes to me I will never cast out” (John 6:37) because it is

the Father’s will “that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me,

but raise it up on the last day” (John 6:39). Knowing that should give






you confidence and squelch any fears you might have.

Finally-brothers

Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all

things work together for good, for those who are called according

to his purpose.”

T his verse is among the favorites of those going through dark

nights of the soul where they or someone they love is going

through a debilitating disease or facing financial ruin. All

things are according to His purpose and God assures us that “all things

work together for good.” This isn’t saying that all things are good or

that nothing bad will happen. It only says that whatever happens is

for our best because it is according to the purposes of God and that is

always good.

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in

everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your

requests be made known to God.”

A nxiety is bad for the body just as joy is good for it. If we

know that everything is going to work out for our ultimate

best (Rom 8:29) then whatever happens (anything) can be

brought to God in prayer but we should be bringing with these






supplications our thanksgiving to God. Our anxiety can be brought to

God and those things that brought the anxiety can be placed in His

hands. We can rest in the fact that when we come with a thankful heart

and make our requests to God, our anxiety about life’s issues will seem

to lesson because of “he has granted to us his precious and very great

promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine

nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because

of sinful desire” (2nd Pet 1:4).

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens

me.”

T he Book of Philippians has been called the “Epistle of Joy” by

many because of all the references to joy. This seems to be the

only church that Paul never had any major issues with;

therefore this might have been his favorite church. How can Paul be so

positive? In the first place, the only way that Paul can do anything at all is

because of Christ (John 15:5) but he also had to learn how to be content

with what he had or whatever circumstances he was in and said “In any

and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and

hunger, abundance and need” (Phil 4:12). This allowed Paul to not be

anxious about anything but thankful (Phil 4:6) but he said “I have learned

in whatever situation I am to be content” (Phil 4:11) so it was a learning

process. Paul writes “the peace of God, which surpasses all

understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ

Jesus” (Phil 4:7) and that should give you the confidence that you can do






all things, according to God’s will, because He Himself will strengthen

you.

Conclusion

T he believer in Christ can “Rejoice in hope, be patient in

tribulation, be constant in prayer”(Rom 12:12) and this should

make them “not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but

on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a

blessing” (1st Pet 3:9). We will be what we think for the most part and if

that’s negative, there’ll be continual bouts of anxiety and worry but if it’s

a positive mindset, then you can rejoice in all things (1st Thess 5:16) and

give thanks for all things (1st Thess 5:18) and you’ll probably draw a

crowd. The best way to enhance positive thinking is from abiding in the

Word of God because then, the Word of God will be abiding in you (John

15:5, 7).






A llan applied for a new job, but he didn't believe he will get it, since his self-esteem was low, and he considered himself as a failure and unworthy of success.

He had a negative attitude toward himself, and therefore, believed that the other applicants were better and more qualified than him.

Allan's mind was occupied with negative thoughts and fears concerning the job, for the whole week preceding the job interview. He actually, anticipated failure.

On the day of the interview, he got up late, and to his horror he discovered that the shirt he planned to wear was dirty, and the other one needed ironing. As it was already too late, he went out wearing a wrinkled shirt and without eating breakfast.

During the interview, he was tense, negative, hungry and worried about his shirt. All this, distracted his mind and made it difficult for him to focus on the interview. His overall behavior made a bad impression, and consequently, he materialized his fear and did not get the job.

J im applied for the same job too, but approached the matter in a different way. He was sure that he was going to get the job. During the week preceding the interview, he often visualized himself making a good impression and getting the job.

In the evening before the interview, he prepared the clothes he was going to wear, and went to sleep a little earlier. On day of the interview, he woke up earlier than usual, and had ample time to eat breakfast, and then to arrive to the interview before the scheduled time.

Jim made a good impression and got the job.

What do we learn from these

two stories? Was there any

magic used? No, everything

happened in a natural way.

existence. You need to adopt the attitude of positive thinking in

everything you do.
