MSNT BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2014-2016

Due to increasing demand for Malaysian Skills Certificatein NDT from industries, the NDT Certification Unit ofDepartment of Skills Development (DSD) as the NationalCertification Body (NCB)is organising a road show topromote the scheme.

The first series which took place on 21st May 2014wasjointly organised with UniKL MFI, Bangi. Five speakers, 2from the NCB, 1 from Malaysia Airlines System, 1 fromNuclear Malaysia and `1 from the Society present theirpapers during this event. Almost 100 students andlecturers were participating in the half-day talk session.

Workshop on Developing Training Material Based of the National Occupational Skill Standard (NOSS), 14th-16th May 2014

As a part of efforts to improve Malaysiantraining and certification system for NDT, theDepartment of Skill Development as theNational Certification Body has organized athree days workshop on the development oftraining materials in accordance with the NOSS.The workshop has been conducted at di AvillionAdmiral Cove Hotel, Port Dickson. It wasparticipated by 20 individuals representing NDTtraining agencies accredited by the NCB .

Visit to NDT Laboratories

A group of 30 students and a lecturer from Sultan Idris Education University visited NDTlaboratories at the Malaysian Nuclear Agency. Similarly another group of 55 studentalongwith 2 lecturers from the International Islamic University visited the samelaboratories on 19th March 2014. The objectives of these visits were to give theopportunity to the student from both universities to observe activities particularly inresearch and development in the area of non-destructive testing and trainings. During thisvisit, students were given guided to visit radiography (including digital radiography), eddycurrent, surface methods and ultrasonic laboratories. Questions and answers sessionprovided at the end of the visit enabled the student to update their knowledge andexperience on various aspects related to this technology.
