OVER BLACK, we HEAR The Ink Spots’ “MY PRAYER” somewhere far away. FADE IN:

INT. HOTEL CARMILLA - HALLWAY - DREAM SEQUENCE.

We’re FLOATING down the Hotel Carmilla hallway, LANDING ON A GUEST ROOM DOOR. A HAND APPEARS IN FRAME, knocks on the door. PULL BACK TO REVEAL SOOKIE, waiting for someone to answer. No one does. She checks to see if the door is unlocked. It is. She slowly walks inside to discover:

ERIC, sitting on the edge of the bed. His head bowed. “MY PRAYER” is playing on the STEREO.

SOOKIEEric?

He barely moves, his back heaves a bit. Sookie sits down beside him, no hesitation. She takes his hand. He grabs hers, holds it tight. A beat, then he looks up at her, BLOOD TEARS staining his cheeks.

ERIC(bereft)

Godric is gone.

Sookie nods.

SOOKIEI know. I’m so sorry.

He cries even more. She takes his face in her hands, gently tries to kiss his blood tears away. Eric looks at her, all sad and strong.

He kisses Sookie on the lips, light, almost a whisper, as if daring her to pull away. She doesn’t. She kisses him deeper, stronger. Neither resisting. Both of them passionate and nowhere else but right there.

As Eric’s hand travels from Sookie’s face, down to her neck, down further, his fangs CLICK into place. Sookie touches them, a dangerous temptation.

As Eric hungrily goes for her neck --

SMASH CUT TO:

INT. ANUBIS AIR LIMOUSINE HEARSE - DAY 10.

Sookie shakes herself awake. She’s in a luxury hearse, sitting next to Jason in the back seat. A handsome and well-groomed middle-aged CHAUFFEUR drives. “MY PRAYER” continues faintly on the RADIO.

JASON(smiling)

Whatcha dreamin’ bout?

SOOKIE(disoriented)

Where’s Bill?

Jason nods toward the back. Sookie turns around, sees BILL’S TRAVEL COFFIN, remembers it’s daytime. She touches the coffin, wishing she could touch him, wishing she weren’t so flushed.

Jason looks out his window, Main Street Bon Temps starting to come into focus.

JASONThis reminds me’a that bus ride back from All-State. Nothin’ looks exactly the way I left it. Know what I mean?

SOOKIEI’ve never been away before.

She turns back around, looks out her window.

SOOKIE (CONT’D)Feels like somethin’ in me’s different though.

JASONYeah.

He knows exactly what she means.

Sookie spots a familiar sight. Well, almost familiar...

HER POV: An old-fashioned WELCOME SIGN has been vandalized with SPRAY PAINT: WELCOME TO BONE TEMPS, POPULATION: FUCK OFF! with a big, PRIMITIVELY DRAWN PENIS, like public rest room graffiti.

JASON (CONT’D)(sees it too)

The hell?

And with that, the CAR BRAKES SCREECH and there’s a GIANT THUD on the hood of the car --

THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD as an entwined, partially clad MALE/FEMALE COUPLE BOUNCE OFF THE HOOD AND SMASH INTO THE WINDSHIELD, SHATTERING IT!

Sookie SCREAMS!

CHAUFFEUR(shocked)

They just ran right out in front of me!

EXT. MAIN STREET BON TEMPS - CONTINUOUS - DAY 10.

We now see the ANUBIS AIR LOGO on the side of the LIMOUSINE HEARSE. By the time the Chauffeur, Sookie and Jason are out of the car, the Man and Woman are already off the hood, running away. The Woman is limping severely and the man has BLOOD on his shoulder.

SOOKIE(calling out)

Wait! Are you all right?

The Man and Woman both LAUGH, stop for a minute to kiss like teenagers, bloody hands obscuring their faces, obscuring their eyes. Then they take off running.

Jason and Sookie stare at each other: What. The. Fuck.

MAIN TITLES

EXT. OLD STACKHOUSE PLACE - DAY 10.

CLOSE ON thin, jeweled HANDS, thick DIRT underneath the fingernails, placing FLOWERS strategically around what looks like a PILE OF MUD.

We PULL BACK TO REVEAL MARYANN, scrutinizing the placement of each flower on a GIANT TOTEM. Still in its planning stages, it’s starting to resemble a LARGE ABSTRACT BODY WITH ARMS STRETCHED UPWARDS, only its structure is covered with FRUIT, FLOWERS, DIRT, TWIGS and large CHUNKS OF RAW GROUND MEAT.

The sun is going down. “EL LADO MAS BESTIA DE LA VIDA (WALK ON THE WILD SIDE)” by Albert Pla echoes from the house. Maryann is filthy (but still fabulous), her hair askew, wearing Gran’s Lobster Apron across one shoulder like a TOGA. A MUD-STAINED, BLOOD-STAINED toga.

MARYANNWhat do you think?

Eggs, FRENZY-EYED, works on the back of the statue, as he’s the only one tall enough to reach the top.

EGGSI think you’ve outdone yourself.

She’s giddy, excited. Karl walks over to her with a large, fancy TRAY, bearing a DEAD BIRD, TWIGS, and LEAVES.

MARYANN (CONT’D)(eyeing the bird)

Feathers! Perfection.

KARLIt’s spectacular.

She cocks her head, narrows her eyes at the statue, then looks to the tray.

MARYANNI’m thinking... more meat. Raw. Bloody. Delicious.

EGGSFive more pounds of ground chuck?

MARYANNThink about who this is for, okay? Let’s aim higher.

KARLCorn-fed Kobe it is.

MARYANN(pleased)

You’re finally getting it, Karl.

Karl beams; this is quite possibly the first compliment she’s ever given him...

MARYANN (CONT’D)The two of you go find me the most expensive meat you can. Nothing but the best!

Karl leaves the tray and Eggs follows. Maryann plucks feathers from the bird, takes a few leaves and twigs, and adds them to the FACE, pleased with her work.

MARYANN (CONT'D)(to Statue)

You are so fucking beautiful.

INT. ANDY’S MOTEL ROOM - DAY 10.

Sam sits in the dark room, on the floor, crouched below the window, hiding from the world.

As we HEAR a CAR PULL UP, he cautiously pulls the curtain away, peeks outside. The CAR DOOR SLAMS and Sam drops the curtain. KEYS RATTLE, the door opens, and the LIGHTS go on.

It’s Andy. He’s carrying the CLOTHES Sam left at the jail and a fresh BOTTLE OF WHISKEY. He’s pretty soused.

Sam stays where he is. We now see he is dressed in ANDY’S CLOTHES - a short-sleeved button down and khaki’s - which he is swimming in.

ANDY(hands Sam his clothes)

It’s clear outside. You can get changed. Though I’d still like to know why you’re always showing up naked.

SAM (taking the clothes, ignoring him)

Thanks for going over there.

ANDYStation was totally empty, cells were all wide open!

Andy opens his booze, starts swigging.

ANDY (CONT’D)And you should see the streets. Whole town looks like New York City or something. Store windows smashed, graffiti, people pissing on the street.

Sam’s getting changed.

SAMTrust me, I know. Every time I think I understand the new order of things, everything just gets more and more fucked. First vampires..., now I gotta wrap my head around a goddamn Maenad.

ANDYMae-what?

SAM(stares at him)

How drunk are you?

SAMYou don’t remember any of what I told you?

ANDY(indignant)

I remember! You said that Maryann Forrester was to blame for all’a this.

SAMYeah, do you remember why?

Andy clearly does not.

ANDYWhat, I gotta pass some kinda test for you, Merlotte?

SAM(disappointed)

Jesus, Andy. (then resigned to explaining)

She is a Maenad. A fucking supernatural creature. She’s been around forever. She gets people to do all the things that aren’t right in normal society.

ANDYThat would explain my dancing.

SAMIt would explain a lotta other things - like why I don’t recognize the bar I’ve poured my life’s blood into. Or why Tara beat the crap out of her own mom, or why Mike Spencer had sex with a tree.

ANDYDoes it explain the bull in the dress with the claws?

SAMMaryann? Is that bull in the dress with claws. And according to Daphne, she’s not leaving till she gets what she wants. Which I think is me.

ANDY(getting riled up)

So, how do we root this ancient bitch out?

SAMI don’t have a fucking clue.

Andy slumps down, and takes a sloppy swig of booze. He looks about ready to throw in the towel.

ANDYHell. I been wrong about every goddamn thing so far. If you don’t got any ideas about how to save this town, how come we even still talkin’ ‘bout this and not on our way to Mexico?

SAMAndy, you’re the only person I got on my side. Tell me you’re not seriously thinking ‘bout running.

ANDYWhy shouldn’t I? Probably never gettin’ my job back, and even if I did, no one around here ever believes a word I say anyway.

Andy’s sense of defeat awakens something in Sam.

SAMI believe what you say. And you been right about something all along: That pig was real.

A beat.

ANDYYou mean it?

SAMOh, yeah. You did not imagine that.

ANDYWhat the hell was it up to.

SAM(darkly)

It was doing some of Maryann’s dirty work for her.

Andy looks like he’s going to cry with relief.

Right then, Sam’s CELL PHONE RINGS. Sam pulls it from his jeans pocket, checks the caller ID.

SAM(into phone)

Hello?.... Whoa, whoa... Okay, just calm down Arlene, and tell me what’s wrong...

INT. MERLOTTE’S - SAME - DAY 10.

CLOSE ON A COWERING ARLENE. Even though her face is obscured by her hair and hand holding the phone close, we can tell she’s terrified.

ARLENE (INTO PHONE)(shaky voice)

Sam, you gotta come right now! It’s a total mob. They’ve got Terry and they’re coming for me next...

Intercut as necessary with Sam in Andy’s motel room:

Sam is concerned, but suspicious.

SAMArlene... I’ve already seen you all caught up in Maryann’s madness, I’m not sure I --

ARLENE(bursts into tears)

Jesus, I know, but she’s after us now! And she is crazy! Hannibal Lecter crazy! And I’m scared she’s going to get my kids!

She cries harder, distraught. Sam is torn, but...

SAMI’ll be right there.

ARLENEThank you. And please. Come fast.

Arlene hangs up, we circle around to the front of her face revealing her FRENZY EYES and her deceitful smirk. Her fear was all an act.

ARLENE (CONT'D)‘Cause you’re what he wants and he always gets what he wants!

Terry appears next to her, also FRENZY-EYED.

TERRYWho does?

ARLENEI don’t even know!

She LAUGHS like a hyena, grabs him by the ears and kisses him hard.

INT. OLD COMPTON PLACE - DOORWAY/FOYER - NIGHT 10.

Not a calm re-entry. Tensions are running high upon Jason’s, Sookie’s and Bill’s return.

Sookie is at the door dealing with the hot-headed Chauffeur while Bill is closing up his Travel Coffin, which is among the rest of the luggage.

CHAUFFEUROh, you don’t like my tone?

SOOKIENo sir, I do not.

CHAUFFEURWell, I don’t like hick-town tweekers smashing my windshield!

SOOKIEThat wasn’t my fault!

CHAUFFEURFucking rednecks!

Bill’s heard enough. He hands the Chauffeur the Travel Coffin and a few HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS.

CHAUFFEUR (CONT’D)(sensing an opportunity)

I might even have whiplash.

ANGLE ON Jason, on his CELL PHONE, in serious mode.

ROSIE ON ANSWERING MACHINE (O.S.)(over phone line)

You’ve reached Renard Parish Sheriff’s Department. Which is closed cuz’ people should do whatever the hell they want to in America! So leave a message - and make sure to include what you’re wearing.

JASONThis is Jason Stackhouse. A couple a folks got hit by a car on Main Street. They looked pretty rough but they ran off. Uh, and I’m wearing jeans and my going-out shirt.

He clicks off the phone.

SOOKIEWhat did Bud say?

JASONI just got a machine.

SOOKIESomething seriously weird is going on in Bon Temps.

BILLI’ve lived long enough to know there’s always an explanation for just about anything.

MAXINE (O.S.)Well if it ain’t the VAMPER and his VAMPER-LOVER!

Bill, Jason, and Sookie look to the top of the stairs where a FRENZY-EYED MAXINE stands. Her hair looks like she put her finger in an electrical socket, her make-up smeared, her bra peaking through her slightly-unbuttoned shirt.

JASON(re: Maxine’s eyes)

What the fuck?

SOOKIE(to Bill)

Explain that.

HOYT and JESSICA come running down the hallway after Maxine.

JESSICAThank God you’re home! She’s gone totally crazy!

BILLWhat is going on here?

JESSICAI swear I had nothing to do with it!

Maxine starts to descend the stairs with Hoyt and Jessica closely behind, ready to grab her should she bolt.

HOYTI thought maybe it was a bad reaction to her new diet pills but then we saw that practically the whole town’s got these eyes.

Maxine LAUGHS, SINGS:

MAXINEJeepers creepers, how ya’ll like my peepers?!

BILL(concerned)

How long has she been this way?

HOYTSince last night--

MAXINEAnd I will be as long as it takes till he gets his offering.

SOOKIEWhat is she talking about?

MAXINEHow ‘bout you offer yourself up to me, Jason Stackhouse, you fine little stud monkey?!

Maxine tries to JUMP THE RAILING of the stairs onto Jason. Hoyt and Jessica FORCEFULLY RESTRAIN her.

HOYT(shocked)

Mama!

BILL(baffled)

Is there anything you’ve been able to do to calm her down?

HOYTMadWorld on the Wii keeps her focused. But I wouldn’t call her calm.

INT. OLD COMPTON PLACE - LIVING ROOM - MOMENTS LATER - NIGHT 10.

ANGLE ON THE PROJECTION SCREEN: A BIKER AND A MINOTAUR HACK AT EACH OTHER WITH CHAIN-SAWS.

ON MAXINE, standing in front of the sofa, Wii WAND in hand, engrossed in MadWorld.

MAXINE (screaming at the screen)

I’m gonna crack your fucking skull!

Jessica begrudgingly sits close by and keeps an eye on her.

As SOUNDS of MASS DESTRUCTION and MAYHEM emanate from the T.V., Bill, Sookie, Jason, and Hoyt watch from the other side of the room.

JESSICA(to Hoyt)

I cannot believe you stuck me with her.

As Hoyt mouths the words, “I’m Sorry”:

Jessica’s eyes shoot dagger at her.

BILL(to Hoyt)

Tell me specifically what your mother has said since she’s been... in this state.

HOYTCrazy talk. She says God is coming to Merlotte’s and that everyone’s waiting there to make sure Sam will be his offering.

SOOKIE(horrified)

What?!

MAXINE(interjecting)

Yep! We’re going to serve him up like barbecue! And then we’re gonna party like it’s nineteen ninety-nine! Yeehaw!

JASONThat’s it, I’m going to the bar.

SOOKIE(”remember”?)

Jason, this would be one of those times to use. Your. Head.

JASONOh, I am. I ain’t never been so clear in my life. It all makes perfect sense - this here is the war I been training for!

BILL“War” is an awfully strong word, Jason. We don’t even know what it is we are up against.

MAXINE(to the T.V.)

You’re a whore and you deserve to get cut!

JASONYou can proceed with caution all you want, but I got this. Hoyt, you stay here with the women.

Jason grabs his things and marches out the door. Sookie turns to Bill.

OFF HOYT, JESSICA, AND MAXINE, who is still frenzy-eyed, maniacally playing her game: quite the strange little family.

MAXINE(re: video game)

I never knew decapitatin’ somebody was so much fun!

INT. MERLOTTE’S - POOL ROOM/DINING ROOM - NIGHT 10.

Sam and Andy enter through the Pool Room door slowly, quietly, not knowing what to expect. Andy clutches his BOTTLE OF WHISKEY as if it will keep him safe.

What they find is a totally EMPTY Merlotte’s. A few odd lights are on, casting shadows and random pockets of pure darkness. It seems to be completely abandoned.

SAMFuck. We’re too late.

ANDYThen let’s just turn around and leave, before we find another dead body with its heart cut out --

Ignoring him, Sam takes a few more steps toward the center of the room. We HEAR AMBIGUOUS SOUNDS, maybe the SHUFFLE OF FEET or the PLUMBING. Sam signals Andy to remain quiet.

SAM Arlene?

Arlene slowly emerges from the Service Alley into the DARKNESS, walking in a relaxed fashion. HER EYES ARE OBSCURED by the shadows of the barely lit room.

ARLENE(”upset”)

Thank you, Sam, for coming so fast. I know how much punctuality means to you.

Arlene steps from the shadows, and we see she’s holding a SHARP KITCHEN KNIFE.

ARLENE (CONT’D)Because soon he’ll be getting what’s his...

As she steps further into the light, her BLACK FRENZY EYES come into clear view. And now, so too do the several PEOPLE following behind her, including JANE BODEHOUSE and MIKE SPENCER, all with FRENZY EYES. They start the low, familiar chant:

CROWDLo lo Bromios lo lo Dendrites lo lo Eleutherios lo lo Enorches...

ANDYAw, hell. Not this shit again...

Andy, a little unsteady, goes for his gun, BRANDISHES it and fires off a WARNING SHOT.

But what Sam and Andy haven’t noticed is that A SMALL CROWD HAS FORMED BEHIND THEM as well, which includes TERRY BELLEFLEUR. Terry, using a MILITARY MANEUVER, quickly disarms Andy, and TWEAKS his only good arm. Andy CRIES OUT in pain.

TERRYStop your belly-aching, soldier!

Terry extends his arm and shoots all the remaining shells off into the walls and ceiling. He speaks to the others in his group as if instructing them.

TERRY (CONT’D)We call this move “stress inoculation”.

The last one accidentally HITS a RANDOM FRENZIER’S SHOULDER. The Crowd starts LAUGHING. And despite the now bloody, gaping hole in his shoulder, the Random Frenzier joins in.

With that brief distraction, Sam and Andy BOLT out of the fray.

Sam leads the way as they HOP OVER THE BAR, and run towards...

INT. MERLOTTE’S - SERVICE ALLEY - CONTINUOUS - NIGHT 10.

Sam and Andy rush into the Service Alley, narrowly dodging the Frenziers coming for them from the Dining Room.

SAM Back door!

But as they make their way down the Alley toward the door, Frenziers emerge from the Rest Rooms and Hallway.

Sam pushes Andy through the Kitchen Door and follows him into...

INT. MERLOTTE’S - KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS - NIGHT 10.

With nowhere else to go, they run into the WALK-IN REFRIGERATOR. Sam quickly pulls the HEAVY DOOR shut.

INT. WALK-IN REFRIGERATOR - CONTINUOUS - NIGHT 10.

Sam holds onto the DOOR HANDLE with all his strength.

SAMDamn it! This door doesn’t lock from inside!

(re: handle)Take it!

Andy takes over for Sam, pulling on the door with fierce determination. Sam grabs a nearby WIRE SHELVING UNIT, tips it over, spilling its contents onto the floor, and jimmies one of its supports through the door handle, so that the Frenziers won’t be able to open it from outside.

INT. MERLOTTE’S - KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS - NIGHT 10.

ON TERRY pulling on the Refrigerator Door from the outside -to no avail. The CROWD, quiet, waits a beat. Terry releases the door, realizing.

TERRYWe have our E-P-W right where we want him! Which means it’s time to PAR-TAY!

CHEERS erupt from the Crowd and hedonistic celebrating begins.

“NEW WORLD IN MY VIEW” by King Britt starts pumping through the walls.

Arlene grabs Terry, tears streaming from her FRENZY EYES.

ARLENETerry Bellefleur? You are my hero.

He sweeps her off her feet, as if re-enacting the scene from “An Officer and a Gentleman,” places her on the prep table, and they start going at it.

INT. MERLOTTE’S - WALK-IN REFRIGERATOR - SAME - NIGHT 10.

Sam and Andy hear the CHEERS, share a look as they catch their breath and realize for the first time just how cold it is in this goddamn walk-in. They want to say something but there are no words for how fucked they are.

INT. LAFAYETTE’S HOUSE - NIGHT 10.

ON TARA, FRENZY-EYED, sweaty, disgusting, tied to a chair. She’s barely conscious, but every so often she writhes, her arms tied behind her back with an assortment of SCARVES only Lafayette would have lying around the house.

LETTIE MAE, still bruised (from Ep# 209), gently wipes Tara’s head with a CLOTH. LAFAYETTE chases yet another VICODIN with a GLASS OF WINE to calm his frayed nerves. It’s barely working. Lettie Mae winces in pain.

LAFAYETTEYou might wanna take care of that.

LETTIE MAEI’m fine.

She’s not. But she keeps trying to cool Tara’s forehead. Tara squirms.

LETTIE MAE (CONT’D)Tara. Tara, baby. Tell your mama what you need...

TARA(like a little girl)

It burns, where I’m tied up. Burns like fire, Mama...

She makes a move as if to untie Tara, but Lafayette steps in and ties the scarves even TIGHTER.

LETTIE MAETyin’ her up’s not makin’ her better.

LAFAYETTEBitch acts like a tiger, I’m keepin’ her in a cage. For her own good.

(re: Lettie Mae’s bruises)Ours, too.

A beat. It’s clear they’re both in the weeds. Lettie Mae kneels by Tara, looking her right in the eyes, smoothing her hair.

LETTIE MAE Tara, please, tell us how to help you.

Tara throws her head back, SPITS right in Lettie Mae’s face, then CACKLES like a crazy person, which at this moment, she clearly is.

Lafayette grabs Tara’s face in his hands, serious, terrified.

LAFAYETTE(all heart)

I don’t know how deep down you’re buried, Tara Mae, but you are all I got and I am NOT gonna FUCKING lose you!

Lettie Mae watches, heartbroken as Lafayette stares right into Tara’s Frenzy-Eyes. And for a moment, it’s almost as if Tara’s heard him, sees him, then she starts to GROWL like an animal. She’s in the midst of some sort of psychotic break.

LETTIE MAEIf only Miss Jeanette were still alive --

LAFAYETTEShe don’t need some backwoods witch doctor. She needs Thorazine and a padded cell.

Lettie Mae looks up at Lafayette, genuinely surprised and moved.

LAFAYETTE(deflecting)

Lafayette grabs another whatever-the-hell pill he’s got handy, downs it with more wine, clearly uncomfortable.

Lettie Mae sees how vulnerable Lafayette is, puts her scarved hand on his cheek. And for a moment, he doesn’t back away.

LETTIE MAEWasn’t your job to save my baby, that’s on me.

Tara starts LAUGHING, loud.

TARAYou can’t save me. You can’t save yourselves. He is coming! And he’s going to kill us all...!

OFF LAFAYETTE AND LETTIE MAE, as Tara smiles wide...

EXT. OLD STACKHOUSE PLACE - NIGHT 10.

Sookie and Bill run towards the house, stopped by the Giant Statue, now fully formed into a Giant Abstract Body with its “head” missing, arms stretched upwards, and a hole where the “heart” should be. Flies hover around it, bugs crawling on the flowers and raw meat.

SOOKIE(freaked)

Bill?

He grabs her hand, and they run up the porch into the...

Sookie opens the door to find the walls and floors covered in a blanket of DIRT and LEAVES. It’s as if someone’s moved the outside inside.

ON SOOKIE, now truly terrified.

Sookie and Bill enter to find every surface of the kitchen lined with BLOODY ANIMAL ORGANS and GUTS. A SEVERED GATOR HEAD sits on the kitchen table.

SOOKIE(horrified)

What is going on here...

She stares at the bloody meat carcasses and destroyed kitchen. She pulls out her cell phone, starts dialing.

BILL(hard to say)

I do not know, Sookie.

SOOKIE(into phone)

Tara, where are you?!(a beat)

She hangs up, whips around, grabbing Bill’s hand. As they reach the front door...

MARYANN looms, arms crossed, still in Gran’s bloody, muddy Lobster Toga.

MARYANNWhat are you doing in my house?

SOOKIEIt is not your house.

MARYANN(all smiles)

It is now.

She blocks their path.

BILLI strongly suggest you remove yourself immediately.

Maryann smiles, eyes Bill, touches his hand lightly at first, then tightens her grip, a bit of a power play.

Sookie steps in between them, right in Maryann’s face. Just as Sookie opens her mouth to speak, Maryann SCOOPS Sookie up by the throat and pins her up against the wall. The Bull Mask falls to the ground. Sookie suddenly gets a series of quick FLASHES:

- POV: HEAVY BREATHING as someone RUNS through the woods...

- The GIANT HORNS of a BULL...

- Sookie’s BLOODY BACK, dripping in poison as an all-too-familiar CHANT is heard:

MARYANN (V.O.) (CONT'D)...Lo lo Bromios lo lo Dendrites lo lo Eleutherios lo lo Enorches...

As Sookie chokes, her eyes pop open. What the fuck was that?!

SOOKIE(breathless)

Bill!

Bill is already on Maryann, trying to pull Maryann’s arms to free Sookie -- but even Bill is no match for her strength!

MARYANNOh, you like strong women? I wonder what that’s compensating for.

Bill’s fangs CLICK into place.

BILLCompensate this.

MARYANN (turned on)

Oh, yes. Go ahead, consume me, ravage me! Devour me!

And BILL SINKS HIS TEETH INTO MARYANN, fast, violent.

But upon contact, Bill’s mouth starts to FOAM! As he pulls back from her neck, Sookie watches in horror, Maryann’s BLACK BLOOD dripping from his FANGS.

Bill GASPS, spits, much like Sookie did with Bill’s blood in Ep# 203. He DROPS to his knees, frothing like a wild horse.

OFF MARYANN, straightening her Lobster Toga, righting a picture on the wall -- a true Martha Stewart from hell.

INT. MERLOTTE’S - WALK-IN REFRIGERATOR - NIGHT 10.

Sam paces, shivering, his lips are getting blue. Andy, with his jacket zipped to the top, has plopped himself down on the floor, waiting it out, drinking away.

ANDYAt least we got something to keep ourselves warm.

(handing Sam his bottle)Aren’t you glad I didn’t take your advice and stop drinking? This could save our lives.

SAM (taking a swig)

Yeah, I feel real lucky right now. (then)

If I’da just left this town when I thought to, maybe no one would be in this situation.

ANDYDon’t beat yourself up, Sam. This whole thing’s bigger than you. You’ve always been real good to this town. Even if you are a sometimes nudist.

A beat.

ANDY (CONT'D)I had a nanny growing up - her name was Annie. Annie the nanny. She used to say to me: “In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king”.

We HEAR “FUCK THIS TOWN” by Robbie Fulks from inside as Jason’s truck skids to a halt outside the back entrance to Merlotte’s. Jason hops out, dressed for combat in his own special way. He walks to the bed of his pick-up and uncovers the tarp laid across it, revealing a plethora of POWER TOOLS.

He straps on a NAIL GUN, a CHAIN-SAW, and grabs his GAS MASK for good measure.

Stealthy, Jason steps foot into the back door...

INT. MERLOTTE’S - SERVICE ALLEY - CONTINUOUS - NIGHT 10.

Jason enters through the back door on high alert, pushes the swinging door to the kitchen open a hair and peers in.

JASON’S POV: Arlene is outside the walk-in, talking to the door.

ARLENENo personal phone calls, Sam? Well, I bet you’d like a personal phone call right about now. Sorry, but not on company time...

Terry steps into view, having entered through the other door to Service Alley.

TERRYHey special lady, come shake a tail-feather with me?

Terry gestures toward Jane Bodehouse, who has followed him in.

TERRY (CONT’D)(winking)

This cadet’s got it covered.

JASON’S POV, moving around the arch near the cigarette machine to REVEAL...

Terry and Arlene dancing in a way only a Frenzied Terry and Arlene can, Mike Spencer aggressively humping the post at the end of the bar, and the rest of the Frenziers partying with similar abandon.

Suddenly we HEAR the REVVING of a CHAIN SAW MOTOR. All the Frenziers stop what they’re doing and stare blankly at us.

THEIR POV: JASON stands under the arch, brandishing the chain saw like an action hero -- or Jason Voorhees from the Friday the Thirteenth movies.

JASONThis party’s over! You wanna keep your limbs, you’ll leave right now.

The Frenziers take a beat, then go right back to what they’ve been doing.

JASON (CONT’D)I ain’t fuckin’ around!

As Jason realizes they’re impervious to him, a Random Frenzier rubs up against the back of him. Jason, spooked, quickly turns and accidentally SLICES into the tip of his SHOULDER. The Random Frenzier curls over, holds onto his shoulder as though he is in pain. When he stands up, he has blood on his hands and a huge smile on his face. He is SILENTLY, WILDLY LAUGHING.

He immediately pulls a TABLE over and PUSHES it against the door, then dashes to the Pool Room and bolts that door and pushes a table against it as well.

INT. MERLOTTE’S - KITCHEN - MOMENTS LATER - NIGHT 10.

Jason bangs on the Walk-In DOOR.

A tense beat.

Sam stands on one side of the fire, the side closest to the Pool Room, while all the Frenziers stand on the other side. They seem mesmerized by the flames.

As Andy and Jason make their way towards the door, Sam yells to the Frenziers:

Suddenly, out of the SMOKE and TWO-FOOT HIGH FLAMES emerges Jason, having donned his GAS MASK and wearing Big John’s LEATHER APRON, which covers most of his clothing.

The HEAT from the fire distorts him so he looks larger than his normal frame. And where he is standing, an ILLUMINATED “CERVEZA SOL” SIGN with YELLOW SUNBEAMS perfectly frames his head. Indeed, in the Frenzier’s altered state, Jason looks like some Post-Apocalyptic Bosch-like God.

JASONIt is me, the God who comes.

ON THE FRENZIERS, staring dumbly.

TERRYWhoa.

Sam turns to Jason: What the fuck?

JASON (grabs Sam)

I have my offering. Thank you! Your work here is done. Go home.

ARLENE(skeptical)

ON ANDY, armed with a FIRE EXTINGUISHER. He’s SPRAYING the FIRE down.

Sam just stands there, half-stunned at what Jason has accomplished, half in shock over what almost happened - as he watches the floor smolder.

As Jason starts tearing off his mask and apron, Sam turns to him.

SAMHow in the hell did you do that?

JASONIf there’s one thing I’ve learned in the past few days, it’s that God makes people stupid. You gotta hose?

Sam gestures toward the kitchen, still in shock. As Jason heads toward the back, Andy watches him in awe.

ANDYI never thought I would live in a world where Jason Stackhouse could be my god.

He continues spraying the last flames with the Fire Extinguisher.
