• The function divides the powerbetween cooking zones connected tothe same phase.

• The function activates when the totalelectricity loading of the cookingzones connected to a single phaseexceeds 3700 W.

• The function decreases the power tothe other cooking zones connected tothe same phase.

• The heat setting display of thereduced zones changes between twolevels.

4.12 Hob²HoodIt is an advanced automatic functionwhich connects the hob to a specialhood. Both the hob and the hood havean infrared signal communicator. Speedof the fan is defined automatically onbasis of mode setting and temperature ofthe hottest cookware on the hob. Youcan also operate the fan from the hobmanually.

For most of the hoods theremote system is originallydeactivated. Activate itbefore you use the function. For more information refer tohood user manual.

5.1 CookwareFor induction cooking zonesa strong electro-magneticfield creates the heat in thecookware very quickly.

Use the induction cookingzones with suitablecookware.

Cookware material• correct: cast iron, steel, enamelled

steel, stainless steel, multi-layerbottom (with a correct marking from amanufacturer).

• not correct: aluminium, copper, brass, glass, ceramic, porcelain.

Cookware is suitable for an inductionhob if:• water boils very quickly on a zone set

to the highest heat setting.• a magnet pulls on to the bottom of the

cookware. The bottom of the cookwaremust be as thick and flat aspossible.Ensure pan bases are cleanand dry before placing onthe hob surface.

Cookware dimensionsInduction cooking zones adapt to thedimension of the bottom of the cookwareautomatically. The cooking zone efficiency is related tothe diameter of the cookware. Thecookware with a diameter smaller thanthe minimum receives only a part of thepower generated by the cooking zone.

Refer to "Technical data".

5.2 The noises during operationIf you can hear:• crack noise: cookware is made of

different materials (sandwichconstruction).

• whistle sound: you use the cookingzone with high power level and thecookware is made of differentmaterials (sandwich construction).

• humming: you use high power level.• clicking: electric switching occurs.• hissing, buzzing: the fan operates. The noises are normal and do notrefer to hob malfunction.

5.3 Öko Timer (Eco Timer)To save energy, the heater of thecooking zone deactivates before thecount down timer sounds. The differencein the operation time depends on theheat setting level and the length of thecooking operation.

5.4 Examples of cookingapplicationsThe correlation between the heat settingof a zone and its consumption of poweris not linear. When you increase the heatsetting, it is not proportional to theincrease of the consumption of power. Itmeans that a cooking zone with themedium heat setting uses less than ahalf of its power.

The data in the table is forguidance only.
