What does one study at the A-Levels?
H1 H2 H3
Half of H2 in terms of curriculum time
Equivalent to A-Level subjects prior to 2006.
Subjects with

The Arts Institutions
Courses are hands-on

In addition to the GCE A-Levels qualifications, students interested in applying to the Arts
Institutions will also need to pass an entrance test or audition, which may include
performing a musical piece or submitting a portfolio.

A quick guide
General Instructions• JAE is conducted annually by the Ministry of
Education (MOE) to apply for admission to:
– Junior Colleges (JC)/ Millennia Institute (MI)
– Polytechnics (Poly)
– Institute of Technical Education (ITE)
• Applications should be submitted online through
the JAE-Internet system (JAE-IS)
• You may view results of your application via
JAE-IS
Quick Guide for

• Students who are eligible for JAE will receive
Form A.
• All students successfully admitted to a school
through the Direct School Admission-JC (DSAJC)
/ Early Admission Exercise (PolyEAE) Exercise
will not be able to participate in JAE.

Verification Slip
for their record
after they have
submitted their
applications.
Release of Posting Results
• The posting results of your applications are
tentatively scheduled for released on 1 February.
You may access results through:
– JAE-IS
– SMS (if you have provided a valid mobile
number)
• Appeals are to be made directly at the institution
within 2 working days after the official release
of posting results.
Acceptance of Offer
• Students who are offered a course in a JC/MI must report
to the school on the date stipulated ( tentatively 2 February)
• Students who are offered a course in a Poly/ITE should
expect to receive an enrolment package and are required to
complete online enrolment by the date stipulated to
confirm your acceptance for the course of study.
• Students who fail to report to the JC/MI/Poly/ITE on the
stipulated dates are deemed to have forfeited her place.
Direct Admissions Exercise
(DAE)
•You may participate in DAE conducted individually by the polytechnics.
•Visit the relevant polytechnic websites for more details.
