Draw a line on the backOf all the light fabric

Cut on the drawnLine for 2 HST

Sew a ¼” seam on bothSides of the line

Press the HST open

Trim using a square rulerWith a diagonal line like shown

Place the diagonal on theSeam as shown. This makesSure you trim it correctly andDon’t lost the shape.

Trim to 3 ½” x 3 ½”

Make 4 HST units

Using the 4” squaresMake 4 HST with the2 cream and 2 red squares

Use the two 2” x 17”Strips to makeThe 4-patch units

Sew togetherAnd press the seam toThe Dark side

Sub cut 2” wide Units.Cut 8Size is 2” x 3 1/2”

Rotate 4 unitsThe seam allowancesAre going opposite directions

Place the top unit so the SeamAllowance is pointed towardsYour needle. Just like inThe photo above.

This lets the machine’s motionNestle the top unit into the bottom

Make 4 units
