Sodexo $27,134,000 Investment | 511 Retained Jobs

One of the nation’s largest providers of food and facilities management services, Sodexo was operating four separate facilities in Amherst, NY and wanted to consolidate. In its search for a new location, they conducted a comprehensive analysis of possible sites, including their U.S. headquarters in Gaithersburg, MD. After considerable analysis, Sodexo chose to build a 110,000 sq. ft. facility in Airborne Commerce Park in Cheektowaga with Uniland Development, retaining 511 local jobs. Sodexo is investing $21 million in the new facility’s construction and an additional $6 million in machinery and equipment upgrades. InBN assisted the project and helped in navigating the incentive process at the state and local levels.

TxMQ, Inc., is a Williamsville-based IT services and software company. Ready for a significant expansion, the company evaluated competitive regions and explored utilizing a fully remote workforce rather than a traditional centralized office. Empire State Development provided Excelsior Jobs Program fully refundable tax credits and TxMQ, Inc. leased space in Williamsville, pledging to create 40 high-paying jobs and to invest $555,000 over the next five years.

1366 Technologies $728,180,076 Investment | 1,000 New Jobs

1366 Technologies, a manufacturer for the solar energy industry, will establish its first direct wafer production plant at the Western New York Science Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Park (WNYSTAMP) in Genesee County. With ample acreage and adequate infrastructure as major challenges for clean energy/high technology companies, we convinced the company and their site selectors that they could design and build a facility to suit their specifications. Having secured their interest, financing, incentives and risk mitigation became the primary focus. Because the STAMP was the only viable site in the region, we focused on securing sufficient state resources to enable Genesee County to complete the acquisition of the acreage and the construction of the required infrastructure.

ESD, NYPA, NYSERDA, New York State Homes and Community Renewal, and US Department of Energy all played significant roles in incentivizing this project. 1366 will lease the new 130,000 square foot facility from Genesee County for the next decade.

Site selectors from South Carolina reached out to InBN for assistance with finding shovel ready real estate, understanding the labor market in the region and navigating public incentives. The company’s Ohio-based management team traveled to Japan to present their recommendations to the parent company’s leadership. Working with developer, TM Montante, Bridgestone APM will construct a 65,000 sq. ft. building in Vantage Industrial Park in Sanborn, NY. Sensorcon $16,900,000 Investment | 93 New, 9 Retained Jobs

Invest Buffalo Niagara worked with Empire State Development to craft a strong case for our region, highlighting our highly talented workforce, low cost of doing business and straightforward incentive programs. Ultimately, Molex decided to invest heavily in the Buffalo Niagara region, pledging to create 93 new jobs and invest nearly $17M.
