Cub Scout Basic Leader Training will also be offered at the University of Scouting. In order to complete the Cub Scout Basic Leader Training please sign up for the first session Cub Scout Basic Leader Training: Introduction to Cub Scouting and then the Specific Class for your position. The Den Leader Specific Class is offered during the second session, the Webelos Leader Specific Class is during the third session, the Cubmaster Specific class is during the fourth session, and the Committee Specific Class is during the fifth session.

The following are some suggested classes if you are a new Cub Scout leader and this is your first time at U of S: You can sign up for five classes. Adults in the Order of the Arrow:

This class will train adults within the Lodge and also training adults on how to better serve the youth. This session is written for an adult adviser audience. It will also give you a better understanding on what the Order of the Arrow does.

Advanced Games With a Purpose

This class will cover the four essentials of inter-personal relationships which leaders must be aware of, and leverage, to build strong teams. It will consist primarily of some fun exercises and group discussion.

Advancement and Scouts with Disabilities or Special Needs

Learn National's policies on advancing a Scout who may need changes to the standard advancement requirements. Where and when to get assistance for your unit and leaders for meeting such a challenge. You cannot do it alone!!

Autism and Scouting - Advanced

More complex topics in helping autistic Scouts succeed.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed about planning a campout with your Webelos Scout den? This introductory course on planning/camping will help your campout be enjoyable and successful.

Counseling Merit Badges

Every merit badge counselor, however skilled in the topic,, needs some training. There IS a right way to counsel and interact with Scouts, leaders, parents. Take this course to be trained --- and to learn what you need to train the adults counseling in your unit. [Additional requirement to being fully trained is, of course, Youth Protection]

Easy, fun and low cost craft ideas to take back to you den and pack.

Cub Scout Basic Training: Introduction to Cub Scouts

In addition to being part one of the training required to be considered trained as a Cub Scout Leader, this training led by some of our most experienced Scouting trainers will give you a clear picture of what Cub Scout is and how it works to mold boys into men of honor. If you are a Cub Scout parent or leader and have not completed basic training, attend this course. To be considered trained you also need to attend the specific training for your position and complete youth protection training.

Cub Scout Basic Training: Committee

This course is for committee chairs and committee members. This is the part two of how to be a great committee person. What are the tools at your disposal? How to take the vision of Scouting and put it into action? After completion of this course, Introduction to Cub Scouts, and one other course at the University of Scouting of your choice you will be considered a trained committee chair or committee member. Other courses you might be interested in are listed on page 2 of this catalog.

Cub Scout Basic Training: Cubmaster

This course is for Cubmasters. This is the part two of how to be a great Cubmaster. What are the tools at your disposal? How to take the vision of Scouting and put it into action? After completion of this course, Introduction to Cub Scouts, and one other course at the University of Scouting of your choice you will be considered a trained Cubmaster. Other courses you might be interested in are listed on page 2 of this catalog.

Cub Scout Basic Training: Webelos Leader

This course is for Webelos Den Leaders. This is the part two of how to be a great Webelos Den Leader. What are the tools at your disposal? How to take the vision of Scouting and put it into action? How to prepare boys for Boy Scouting? After completion of this course, Introduction to Cub Scouts, and one other Webelos course at the University of Scouting you will be considered a trained Webelos Den Leader. Other courses you might be interested in are listed on page 2 of this catalog.
