Matthew Strickland was invited to join the Xi Sigma Pi, National Scholastic Honor Society, Xi Sigma Pi, the oldest and most prestigious natural resources honor society in the United States. It was founded in 1908 and the North Carolina State chapter was founded in 1940, the first natural resources honor society in the South. Matthew graduated from East Bladen High School in 2010 and began his college career at Bladen Community College and transferred to North Caro-lina State University and will graduate December 2014. Matthew is the son of Greg and Carol (Health Dept.) Strickland of White Lake.
Jacqueline Maria Jenkins received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Winston-Salem State University on Friday, May 16, 2014. Jacqueline in the daughter of the late A. W. Jenkins and Dalphaine G. Jenkins with Building Inspections.

Olivia Shaw (Angela, DSS) is graduating from West Bladen High School and will attend BCC in the fall. She plans to transfer to NC State & major in Agriculture.
Kathleen Hebert (Rhea, Library) graduated with a mas-ter’s degree in Parks & Tourism Management from NCSU. She is Park Technician of Programs at Harris Lake County Park in Raleigh.
Rhianna Tonae Jones-Adams, graduate of Whiteville High, June 13, 2014. Will attend Hampton University in the fall. She is the daughter of Debra N Jones (DSS).
Jordan Summer Hayes, daughter of Janice (Finance) and Jerry Hayes graduates from East Bladen High. She is a member of HOSA, National Honors Society & National Technical Honors Society. She was awarded the Superintendents List, Sr. Athletic Award for Soccer, Varsity Letter Award & National Career Readi-ness Bronze. She will be taking the Certified Nursing Assistant test in June and attend BCC this summer to further her education in Nursing.

Nijeal K. Williams, son of Jenny Hall (DXSS) and John Williams of St. Mary’s, GA will graduate from West Bladen High. Nijeal will attend Southeastern Community College to earn his Associ-ates Degree in Arts & General Education with a minor of Physi-cal Education & Health.
Corey A. Rich, the son of Ted and Sandra (DSS) Rich, has been promoted to the position of Chief of Probation/Parole in Brunswick County. Corey completed his education at the University of Wilmington in Criminal Jus-tice in 2006. He has held the position of Probation/Parole Officer II with Brunswick County since that time and until his promotion in March 2014. Corey lives with his wife Shelley and their daughter Emmi.

The General Statutes of North Carolina govern the Register of Deeds Office. ROD is responsible for maintenance, integrity and safe-keeping of all public records.
Bladen County Register of Deeds Office exists primarily to enable the owner of an interest in property to give public notice of that ownership.
We also house many other public records, such as births, deaths, marriage licenses and notary oaths. We are pleased to record the military discharges (DD-214s) free of charge to our retired military.
It is the mission of this office to properly enforce these laws, while at the same time providing the highest possible level of customer service.

Wesley D. Rich, Ph.D., has been appointed chair of public health and associate dean of administration at Campbell Univer-sity’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, effective June 1. He is currently the college’s assistant dean of administration and assistant professor of public health.
Rich holds a Master of Education from Campbell and received his Doctor of Philosophy in Research and Policy Analysis from North Carolina State University. The public health program at Campbell was announced in 2011 with the purpose of addressing the shortage of public health professionals in the community and the state with a focus on rural health care disparities. Dr. Wesley Rich lives in Buies Creek, NC with his wife Laura and their daughter Ellie, and son Nathan. Wesley is the son of Ted and Sandra(DSS) Rich of Bladenboro, NC.
