Artliſting & HUECU Celebrating 75 Years SUMMER 2014 Harvard University Employees Credit Union is celebrating our 75th anniversary! HUECU was founded on June 26, 1939, when Harvard University employees banded together to create equal access to quality financial services within our community. We are excited to celebrate this milestone with members and friends throughout the communities we serve. While our founders wouldn’t recognize many of the ways we interact with our members today, the cooperative principles that they first established are as strong as ever. Things were a bit different in 1939. The limit for unsecured loans was set at $50. At the end of that year, we had a total of 547 members and our assets equaled a mere $8,446.29. Fast forward 75 years later, we now have assets in excess of $450 million and offer over 50 financial products and services to over 42,000 members. To all our valued members, our sincerest thanks for your support over the years, and for making HUECU such a special place. We look forward to working with you for many years to come and are excited to find out what the next 75 will bring!
