    Start Garden & MiSpringboard

    Many cities are trying to jumpstart entrepreneurial activity. In April 2012, Start Garden announced a$15,000,000 fund that would invest $5,000 into two ideas every week. Ideas are submitted tostartgarden.com. In just over a year, they've deployed over $3 million into over 140 investments that rangefrom back-of-the-napkin ideas to fast-growth startups. MiSpringboard is a state-wide program designeto remove some of the barriers associated with starting and growing a business by providing free legalservices to new business initiatives. Through MiSpringboard, Varnum will invest up to $1 million in freelegal services to businesses referred to us by various economic development and other organizationsacross the state.
