TECHNOLOGY

Composite material specimen preparation. Hand lay up with prepreg. Preparation in autoclave and hot plates compression press. (laminates of fiber reinforced composite materials with polymeric matrix, different fiber orientation).

Determination of mechanical properties; complete characterization considering the material anisotropy. Tension, compression, bending testing at temperatures -129 a 540°C.

Fatigue and fracture analysis of composite materials: High cycle fatigue, low cycle fatigue, fracture toughness, Poisson modulus, interlaminar shear, dynamic testing.

Nondestructive testing of composite materials, using ultrasonic with phase arrays, immersion ultrasonic, “C” scan, Lamb waves, acoustic emission, radiography, infrared thermography.

Failure analysis of composite materials using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.

Noise and vibration analysis.
