    The European Police Congress in brief

    Analysis of Participants 2013The European Police Congress became an institution for natio-nal and international security authorities. On the 16th EuropeanPolice Congress 1.450 Participants from 21 Nations came toge -ther and used the conference to gather up to date informationon the topic Safety and Security in Cyber-Space.

    The media resonance on the public programme parts is traditio-nally high: In 2013 about 62 media representatives joined theconference.

    Alignment and structure of the Congress

    The European Police Congress is an international informationplatform for decision makers from police forces and security aut-horities and industries. Its intention is to strengthen the dialo-gue between the authorities and enable the participants to esta-blish new contacts to colleagues from all over the world. Everyyear critical discussions on up-to-date issues are held and the la-test developments in technologies for the professional use in thesecurity sector are presented by the exhibitors. The European Po-lice Congress is the largest conference for internal security in theEuropean Union.

    Annually the conference is a meeting place for about 1.500 ex-perts from more than 20 countries. Representatives of polices,border polices, secret services as well as governments, parlia-ments and industries participate in the conference. The EuropeanPolice Congress is organized by the Behrden Spiegel, Germa-nys leading newspaper for public authorities with support of na-tional and European authorities. In 2013 the conference pro-gramme was supported by the Federal Criminal Police Office(Bundeskriminalamt), the Federal Office for the Protection of theConstitution (Bundesamt fr Verfassungsschutz) and others.
