The Starkville Area Arts Council presents several major events throughout the year that provide unique opportunities for businesses to participate in through sponsorship. These events provide access to a range of target markets, as well as captive audiences, that are not available at other events, giving our sponsors a chance to reach new and larger groups. SAAC event sponsors will have their businesses promoted before, during, and after the event in a variety of ways, providing substantial exposure.

Sponsorship packages and levels are available that range from overall event sponsorship, allowing businesses to be top contributors of an event with unparalleled visibility, to moderately priced levels that provide marketing opportunities for new and growing businesses. By becoming a SAAC event sponsor, you are telling the community that you value the arts and arehelping to promote the arts in the community. Which ever level fits your organization, we ask that you take a moment to review the events and packages available.

The Magnolia Independent Film Festival premiered in 1997 under the direction of Ron Tibbett. Tibbett was a filmmaker born in Chicago, Illinois who had recently moved to Mississippi. After completing his second film, Tibbett began looking for a local film festival to which to submit it. Upon finding no Mississippi Film Festivals, he set out to start his own. The Magnolia Independent Film Festival became the first film festival in Mississippi.

Tibbett died in a car accident in 2004. Today, the festival continues as his legacy. Tibbett’s hope was to support filmmakers and nurture the art of film. The festival now brings films and filmmakers from around the globe to the Golden Triangle Area. The festival also encourages Mississippi student filmmakers to enter, in hopes of being able to help preserve the art of filmmaking in our area.

The Everything Garden Expo (EGE) held each March at the Mississippi Horse Park features recognized horticulturists as guest speakers; vendors from across the Southeast; and a host of hands-on activities for everybody from wanna-be gardener to the well-seasoned gardener. Because of the experienced speakers and the educational opportunities, as well as the variety of products offered, this event attracts gardening enthusiasts from around the region to visit Starkville and invest in our community. The Starkville Area Arts Council is the driver of this event that measurably impacts our community both economically and educationally.

The EGE committee would like to offer you the opportunity to become a significant part of this successful event as a sponsor. Together we can seed, water, and cultivate the arts in our community. Please browse through the categories and see what type of gardener you would like to be.
