says, “For a homeowner, this meansthat the value of their home will begreater just by being in a develop-ment with open space.” No real sur-prise here. This is simply “location,location, location” in action. Thinkabout it. The initial appeal of “Proper-ty 1” is its beautiful location and vastopen space access. Those valuablequalities are protected by strong en-titlement commitments, and are inthe self-interest of the developer topreserve. Over time, “Property 1” isadvantaged by the preservation anddurability of its appeal. “Property 2”is also nice initially, but is lacking
are left scratching their heads, lostin a sea of rooftops, wonderingwhat attracted them there in thefirst place. And to whom do theycomplain? Not to Developer A. Hehad no control over the adjacentdevelopment, and besides, he’slong gone by now.
