GOOD TO KNOW

• This curriculum can work equally well in church and home groups. Each ofthe six sessions is planned for 60 minutes in length. In more formal, time-sensitive church settings, leaders will likely need to follow the time framesprovided in the session outline more closely to finish all the content. In lessformal home settings, leaders can “round off” time frames and still end upwith about an hour of study material. In either case, remember these are sug-gested time frames and are open to adjustment as you see fit.

• Flexibility is also the word when it comes to large group/small group exer-cises. For various reasons (logistics, group size, etc.) it may not make sense tobreak into small(er) groups; if so, simply disregard these cues throughout theguide.

• Feel free to adapt each session to your particular group. Reword or add ques-tions if you wish. If you sense a certain question is too inflammatory for yourgroup or reaches beyond your comfort zone,you may simply omit it or at leastrecognize that not everyone needs to answer every question. On the otherhand,don’t be afraid to tackle tough topics.Being willing to let God transformyou—including those rough edges—is at the heart of living the life you’vealways wanted.

If you have ever been frustrated with the state of your spiritual life. If you’ve everwondered why spiritual growth seems to go so slowly. If you’ve ever wondered ifreal change is possible. If you’ve ever felt confused or stuck in your spiritual life—you’re my kind of person.

It is never easy. It is rarely quick. But it is possible. I see it happening inpeople sometimes—occasionally even in myself.

It happens any time people become intensely serious about learning from Jesushow to arrange their lives.It happens any time people set their focus on learning tolive as Jesus would live if he were in their place.
