Цели и задачи интеллектуального конкурса

Цель:

1.провести страноведческий конкурс с использованием материалов по достопримечательностям Лондона;

Задача:

-активизировать употребление лексики при извлечении общей и детальной лингвострановедческой информации.

Структура конкурса:1.Просмотр видеофильма о

достопримечательностях Лондона.

2.Выполнение тестовых заданий по просмотренному фильму.

3.Создание проектов-презентаций «A tour of London”

Have you ever heard of sightseeing of London? Of course, you have. They are said to be the places of great interest and charming attractions for crowds of tourists all over the world…

London, the capital of Britain, is situated on the river Thames…

Westminster is the political centre of London. It consists of the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and

Buckingham Palace.

The Houses of Parliament are the place where Parliament works.

Big Ben is the magnificent clock tower on the Houses of Parliament. It shows the time

of all the sides of the world.

Buckingham Palace is the official residence and the London home of the

Queen.

Westminster Abbey is the holy place where the kings and queens of Great

Britain are crowned.

The Changing of the Guard is one of the famous ceremony near

Buckingham Palace to be done every day!

The two main sights of the City are St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower of

London

The Tower of London is one more historical jewel of London to impress

people of many centuries.

Tower Bridge is rather huge !

So what are they?

How well do you know London now?

1) is the residence of kings and queens of Britain.

2) is the famous ceremony near Buckingham Palace.

3) is a place where Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married.

4) was a prison for the enemies of the king.

5) is a state mechanism to show the time of all sides of the world.
