WHAT IS GEMOLOGUE?GEMOLOGUE is an award-winning, multi-cultural online platform for fine, fashion and antique jewellery established by Liza Urla in 2009. GEMOLOGUE is targeted towards readers in the UK, US, Brazil and Russia. It is written in four languages: English, Russian, Chinese and Portuguese.

GEMOLOGUE’s mission is to promote and educate about jewellery online in a fresh and original fashion to create desire and to inspire our followers in a fashion and travel context.

Liza Urla, the founder of GEMOLOGUE, is a London-based and NYC-educated gemologist, who has travelled to and lived in many countries throughout her career. She is a born trend-spotter, both in jewellery and fashion, with a natural eye for photography. Liza picks jewellery according to her personal eclectic style.

Liza seeks to create high quality online content for jewellery brands she works with, complemented by creative styling, and to share her authentic first- hand experiences with GEMOLOGUE followers.

GEMOLOGUE is in the Top 5 jewellery blogs. In April 2015, GEMOLOGUE won Best Blog in Fashion Category at UK Blog Awards 2015. Since August 2013, Liza Urla has collaborated with over 200 jewellery brands and has developed a strong social media presence.

GEMOLOGUE is a much deeper personal experience than regular press releases or magazine articles about jewellery, therefore making the content more relatable to our followers. Liza takes her followers along on her visits to various jewellers, selecting pieces that catch her eye and sharing her thoughts on the collections. At the end of each post there is an option for her readers to arrange a private viewing.

GEMOLOGUE collaborated with FABERGÉ on several features that showcased FABERGÉ’s fine jewellery. FABERGÉ is primarily known for their exquisite jewel-like Easter eggs, however they were looking to put emphasis on their remarkable fine jewellery, contemporary and wearable regardless of the historic and revered name.

JCK LUXURY

Since Liza is a global jewellery influencer, JCK LUXURY hosted Liza in Las Vegas to help spread the word about the show internationally.

She gave a talk on current jewellery trends, as well as taking over JCK events social media channel and providing coverage on GEMOLOGUE.

As a jewellery influencer, making a statement is something Liza aspires to and the look that she selected for JCK LUXURY was a result of two ideas colliding, where her pearl #JewelleryFace (à la Givenchy) meets the Kokoshnik, a traditional Russian head piece. True to her own nature of merging jewellery with fashion, she was inspired by Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

COUTURE SOCIAL MEDIA TAKEOVERGEMOLOGUE took over the social media of Couture, the most prominent and exclusive jewellery fair in the US, which takes place every year in Las Vegas. Couture was actively promoting this collaboration to all the buyers and jewellery designers via their website and e-mailers.

Couture presents an exquisitely curated collection of more than 200 pre-eminent designers and brands, including both heritage names and emerging designers. The show is attended by more than 4,000 top- tier buyers, including Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

GEMOLOGUE covered three jewellery brands for Couture: Shaun Leane, and Stephen Webster in London; and Lydia Courteille in Paris.

EDITORIAL

CHANEL AT CHISWICK HOUSEGEMOLOGUE recently collaborated with CHANEL Fine Jewellery to put together an editorial shoot superimposing CHANEL’s high jewellery featuring Coco Chanel’s talisman flower against camellias in bloom at Chiswick House. Chanel closed off the Camellia Show at Chiswick House to the public for a day, so that GEMOLOGUE could shoot the jewellery in absolute privacy.

BEST FASHION BLOG AT UK BLOG AWARDS 2015In April GEMOLOGUE by Liza Urla won Best Fashion Blog at the UK Blog Awards 2015. The ceremony took place at The Montcalm in London last Friday, 17th April.

Liza Urla was the face of Meira T’s look book and advertising campaign. Meira T is a well-known jewellery brand in the US. Their pieces are sold in over 50 points-of-sale, worldwide.

The campaign shoot took place around Central Park, Fifth Avenue, and downtown. It was featured on UK’s largest indoor advertising screen in Harrods.

FACE OF THE BRAND

BOODLESAs a jewellery blogger, Liza Urla was hand-picked by Boodles as one of the faces for their new collection, Maze, in September 2014. It was an exclusive, online-only launch. Such an exercise for a fine jeweller was very unusual and innovative, and sparked some great interest amongst jewellery lovers. Prior to their jewellery being available for sale, Boodles had launched a campaign on their website. Along with three other bloggers, Liza was asked to style and interpret some pieces from this collection in her own signature style for GEMOLOGUE and other social media platforms.
