Aurora

Aurora, also known as the Northern lights, are lights formation that occur on the northern part of the globe.it is like a colorful radio waves that travel slowly above places in the artic circle. Aurora is usually seen in Alaska because Alaska is close to the north pole.

Causes of Aurora

Shocks from the sun emits magnetic waves that goes to earth.

The magnetosphere absorbs the magnetic force that is emitted from the sun.

It transmits those waves to the atmosphere which is just below the magnetosphere.

Because of that, the atmosphere is magnetized and magnetic power from the sun is given to the atmosphere.

The magnetic waves that are traveling in the atmosphere can be seen from earth as Aurora

How Aurora happen

Aurora happens when our protective atmosphere is being energized by the magnetic power of the sun from the magnetosphere. Magnetosphere is a part of the atmosphere that is the furthest from earth and protects earth form flares of the sun. Because the atmosphere is magnetized, these magnetic waves can be seen from earth as Aurora. So these Aurora are a type of magnetic storms from the sun which are absorbed by the magnetosphere.

Effects of Aurora to earth

Aurora are like magnetic storms that occur in the atmosphere. The voltage of electricity raised from the Aurora are absorbed by some electrical conductors from earth. When the voltage of the Aurora is absorbed more and more, the electricity conductors can explode which could lead to electrical failure in cities. For example, on March 13 1989, a large part of Canada is left out without electricity for days because of Aurora. The same electrical breakdown also occur in 1991, 1997 and 2003 because of Aurora.

Impacts of Aurora in our lives

Because of Aurora, Canada has no electricity for days which made total darkness on Canada and made human life not normal.

It also effects the word economy because when Canada was left without electricity, stocks from Canada couldn’t be sent out to the world because their machines couldn’t work.

At Alaska and Canada, some people worship the Aurora because they represent the souls of the dead. They also believe if they don’t worship the Aurora, those souls from the Aurora can be angry.
