WORLD MISSION SUNDAY Weekend of October 20th/21st Calling All Mission Voices! The weekend of October 20th/21st is WORLD MISSION SUNDAY. The 2nd collection is to support the Church’s missionary efforts, supporting mission Priests, religious Sisters and Brothers and lay catechists who provide loving service to those most in need. As Catholics, around the world, here within our United States and in the Missions, we gather at the Eucharist around the table of the Lord. Together, let us PRAY for the Church’s worldwide missionary work and OFFER financial HELP. Suggested Donations: $25 helps support a catechist for a month in Latin America; $75 provides for the work of religious Sisters in Africa; and $100 assists children in schools in Asia, donated through The Society for the Propagation of the Faith for vulnerable communities throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Islands. Thank you in advance for your generous support!

SCRIPTURAL REFLECTION October 14, 2018

“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:25 Jesus uses tough language that we may not want to hear. We are all called to be generous with all our gifts, not just the ones we pick and choose, but all our gifts: our time in prayer to God, our talent in participating in parish ministries and our treasure supporting our local parish and other charities.

Here I am Lord, I come to do Your will.

PRAYER for VOCATIONS O God, Father of all Mercies,

Provider of a bountiful Harvest, send Your Graces upon those You have called

to gather the fruits of Your labor; preserve and strengthen them

in their lifelong service of You. Open the hearts of Your children

that they may discern Your Holy Will; inspire in them a love and desire

to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Teach all Your faithful to follow their respective paths

in life guided by Your Divine Word and Truth. Through the intercession of

the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, all the Angels, and Saints,

humbly hear our prayers and grant Your Church's needs,

through Christ, our Lord. Amen. PRAYERS for an INCREASE in VOCATIONS

Please PRAY one OUR FATHER, one HAIL MARY and one GLORY BE for an increase in vocations for

the Capuchin Franciscan Friars of the Province of the Sacred Stigmata of Saint Francis and to the Archdiocese of Newark. For more information,

please visit www.capuchinfriars.org or www.rcan.org/offices-and-ministries/vocations

VOCATION PRAYER CHALICE Dedicate one week to pray for Vocations to the Priesthood & Religious Life! We have begun a beautiful ministry of prayer for vocations: Vocation Prayer Chalice. Each Sunday at the end of Mass, a family or individual is presented with the Vocation Prayer Chalice, a candle, and a booklet with prayers for each day of the week. When we take the Prayer Chalice, we commit to pray each day on behalf of our parish for vocations. “May our prayers help inspire those with a calling to religious life to be attentive to the movement of the Holy Spirit within them, to step forward in faith and with generous hearts and to go wherever the Spirit leads them!” It is a wonderful opportunity of prayer...Prayerfully consider making it part of your Faith journey! The Holy Spirit works through us. To volunteer to pray with the Vocation Prayer Chalice, please call the parish office: 201-659-1114 or see Staci Zegler, Catechist after the 10:30am Mass or Fr Remo and your name will be placed on the schedule. There is power in prayer!! The blessings and graces are innumerable!!

The St Ann MOM’S GROUP The St Ann Mom’s Group is a network for new and young mothers who wish to exchange ideas and help their families grow in faith. As Catholic women we want to share and support each other while reminding ourselves that Jesus is the center of our lives and seek to orient ourselves to His grace. We know that family life rarely goes as planned and we need to be there for each other and to share in the joys and (occasionally) less than joyful moments.
