Employee Assistance Program (EAP ) Definition

A service providing:

• EAP is pre-paid by your employer; there is no cost to you

Employer Payroll Solutions Employees, and

their dependents, are entitled up to 6 counseling sessions per issue, per year

CONFIDENTIALITY

• All EAP records and services are confidential in adherence with state and Federal confidentiality regulations including HIPPA and 42-CFR Part 2.

• Your employer is not informed of who uses the EAP.

• No information released without your consent, unless:• Suspicion of child/elder abuse and/or neglect• Danger to self or others• Court order


Types of Referrals

• Self-referral

• Informal Referral – offered as a resource by the employer when employee has a non-work related problem

• Supervisory Referral – recommended to address job problems
