Inductive ring andtube sensors.

Static sensors operate like inductive proximity sensors.They generate an output signal as long as there is metalin the detection zone. So, feed processes for example withfalling screws or jam monitoring can be implemented.Dynamic sensors are used when particularly small partsare to be detected. During a damping operation a shortpulse is generated at the output of the sensor, adjustablefrom 0.1 to 150 ms. The high resolution is maintainedfor a long time even in case of metal contamination onthe tube.

Precise position detection forinstrumentation.

ApplicationsApplications for slot sensors can be found on measur-ing devices or instruments for metering pressures and flowrates. The sensors can be installed individually and ensurewear-free and non-contact switching. The sensor targetcan be made of different materials.

Typical applications:In a meter the sensor detects slots in a disc. In a vane-typeflow meter the pointer counterweight position is detectedby slot sensors.

VersionsThe new inductive slot sensors are approved for Cat-egory 1 ATEX gas and dust areas. The sensors can beoperated outside ATEX areas with 24 V.

T-slot cylinder sensors forthe AC/DC voltage range upto 120 V.

One reed contact for standard applicationsA reed element now also belongs to the family of T-slotcylinder sensors. Its response sensitivity to magnetic fieldchanges is comparable to that of common electroniccylinder sensors.

Easy installationThe units have a T-slot on the back for very easy installa-tion. Angle brackets are enclosed with all units. The resolution is ensured also for installation in L or Tshape. Given the short distance from the first light beam,the units can be installed without dead band on one side.

Applicationefector gwr operates to the principle of guided waveradar and measures the level using electromagnetic pulses in the nanosecond range. The sensor is suited tocontinuous level moni to r ing in almost all liquids.

MountingThe sensor is directly mounted in the tank using a processconnection or flange plate. If necessary, the sensor rodcan be easily shortened and adapted to the tank by theuser.

SettingSettings of all parameters as well as programming ofthe switch points and indication of the current level arecarried out via a 4-digit alphanumeric display.

Aseptoflex Vario – the new process connectionwith 4 sealing optionsThe new process connection Aseptoflex Vario with G 1thread enables sealing via a metal sealing edge, O-ringsof various materials (e.g. EPDM or FKM), a PEEK ring orcommon sealing materials (e.g. teflon tape). Variousprocess adapters (clamp, DIN11851 pipe fittings, etc.)are available as accessories.In addition, the G 1 thread fits into conventional adaptersand T-pieces. Measurement techniqueThe flow sensor is based on Faraday’s principle of induc-tion.The conductive medium flowing through a pipe in a mag-netic field generates a voltage which is proportional tothe flow velocity or flow rate.

Electronic “contact manometer” PGIn many industrial areas mechanical contact manometersare often used because of their highly visible display. Theelectronic “contact manometer”of the series PG combinesthe high visibility of a manometer display with the advan-tages of an electronic pressure sensor, for example theprogrammable switching and analogue output (scalable),the high overload protection as well as the integratedtemperature compensation.The LED bargraph shows set and reset points, trends andthe limits of dynamic pressure fluctuations, if any. Thepointer is controlled via a stepping motor as it has beentried and tested many times in cars (tachometer). Whendisconnected, the pointer is not visible.

PQ pressure sensor – for pneumatic applicationsThe new pressure sensors of the PQ series are based on apiezoresistive measuring element and are distinguished byan extremely compact housing and a wide range of pos-sible applications. The units precisely measure the pressurein the negative pressure and overpressure range in pneu-matic applications. The silicon measuring cell is insensitiveto liquids (e.g. condensed water) and deposits that mightoccur in the system.

Technical detailsThe silicon measuring cell used guarantees a high overloadresistance as well as an accuracy of ± 0.5 %. The sensorcan be programmed using two pushbuttons. The two-colour, four-digit display makes the system pressure visiblefrom a distance in normal operation.

Mounting optionsThe sensor can be fixed to flat surfaces and profilesusing the two M4 drill holes on the front. It can be fixed toa DIN rail using the robust DIN rail clip, which is securedagainst inadvertent movement. The sensor is screwed tothe clip.Installation with an optional double nipple with 1/8"thread is even easier. Using this nipple, the sensor can befixed to the pipe or air-ducting plate and aligned at thesame time – quickly and easily.

Type TP:Modular transmitter –great benefit.

Minimised installation and error sources.Because of the use of two standardised M12 connec-tions, the installation complexity of the TP temperatureplug is reduced to a minimum as compared to a commonhead / DIN rail transmitter. Furthermore, error sources suchas cable clamps are eliminated.

Versatile use.Thanks to 4-wire Pt100 / Pt1000 evaluation, the trans-mitter can also be connected to a Pt element using con-nection cables. Due to its small size, it is also suited forharsh applications, because it can be installed in a safeposition.In addition the scalability of the TP between -50...300 °C,using the USB interface E30396 allows individual adaptation of the measuring range to almost any application.

Output responseAfter power on, the power supplies start, even withoutminimum load, and are, of course, short-circuit proof andoverload protected. Whereas the compact power sup-plies DN1030 and DN1031 operate in the Hiccup modein case of overload or short circuit, the power supplies inthe metal housing feature an “intelligent power reserve”.At a 1.5-fold nominal load the power supplies can pro-vide “extra current” for 5 s, for a longer time, in case oflower overload. This additional power allows difficult loadsto start (motors, DC/DC converters).In case of a short circuit the output voltage dips and theoutput current is limited to the nominal current.Parallel operationTwo identical power supplies can be operated in parallel.To do so, the power supplies should be set to the sameoutput voltage before (24...28 V).

The Ethernet switch is an excellent choice for projectsthat require a protection rating of IP 67.The switch was developed to defy the harshest oper-ating conditions where mobile machines are used. Itoperates in a wide temperature range of -40...80 °C.The redundant voltage supply guarantees maximumreliability.

• Reliable technologyThe switch has five 10/100BaseTX ports with D-codedM12 sockets. This enables a set-up of Ethernet networksto the standard IEEE 802.3 (10BASE-T) or fast Ethernetnetworks to the standard 802.3u (100BASE-TX).By means of auto-sensing, the ports detect the trans-mission speed and capacity utilisation of the connec-tions and configure them automatically. 32-bit ExtendedController for mobile vehiclesThe mobile controller meets the requirements of modernelectronics, able to simultaneously perform proportionalfunctions with a large number of inputs and outputs.The ExtendedController was developed particularly foruse in off-highway and mobile vehicles on the basis ofthe current standards and long-term experience.Besides the multifunctional inputs and outputs eachcontrol module is equipped with 4 CAN interfaces. Theysupport all important bus protocols, different baud ratesand also the transparent and preprocessed data exchange.Programming to IEC 61131-3 ensures that all control func-tions can be easily integrated in the application program.

• Mechanical structureBesides a reverse-polarity protected central plug formobile applications the control electronics integratedin a compact metal housing provides all the necessaryconnections for the inputs and outputs, communica-tion and programming. The RGB status LED displaysthe most important system messages.

• The electronicsThe core of the controller designed according to theapplicable standards for electronics for mobile applica-tions is a modern 32-bit processor. Monitoring andprotection functions enable safe operation even underextreme operating conditions.

• Configuration of the inputs and outputsBy means of the application software the inputs andoutputs can be configured to adapt to the respectiveapplication.Each input can be configured as a digital, frequency oranalogue input with diagnostic function. In additionthe inputs support the evaluation of positive and nega-tive digital input signals. The analogue inputs enableboth current and voltage measurement.In addition to the freely configurable digital or PWMoutputs with diagnostic capability, with and withoutcurrent control, digital outputs with diagnostic capabilityare also available.

• Parameter setting to IEC 61131-3 with CoDeSysProgramming with the standardised IEC 61131-3 lan-guages enables the user to create clear and easy appli-cation software. In addition, libraries are available forspecial functions of the controller.

• CAN interfaces with CANopen protocolThe ExtendedController is equipped with four CANinterfaces to ISO 11898. The data is exchanged withall connected bus participants via these interfaces. TheCANopen protocol enables quick and flexible connec-tion to the bus. For communication with the dieselengine and the power train all interfaces can be recon-figured to the J1939 protocol.
