1.0 HISTORY OF THE ENTREPRENUR

Mr.Amnan is the owner of Abang Strawberry.He started involve in business since 2010

where he start with small capital which is using his PTPTN money.His first company was

named as Rezeki Ika in 2012 but that business wont sustain any much longer which only till

the early of 2013 where the company cannot sustain in the market since the capital needed

is too high and he has been fraud by the lawyer .The lawyer he appointed to arrange the

documents for business loan from the bank had cheated on him where he already paid the

lawyer RM10,000 and the lawyer just vanished with the money.

In 2013 Mr.Amnan pull himself together and start a new business with new company which

is Abang Strawberry.He come out with a new product known as 'Sambal Strawberry'.At the

beginning he start with 200 bottle of Sambal Strawberry and the market respond was very

interested with the product.He finish sell all the 200 bottles in a week.After a few months, he

has an idea to combine it with Nasi Lemak and do the market survey.The respondent give a

positive feedback about the taste of Nasi Lemak eat with Sambal Strawberry.So he decided

to come out with his new product which called as Nasi Lemak Sambal Strawberry.

Until now he promote various type of products such as Sambal Strawberry, Nasi Lemak

Sambal Strawberry, and Strawberry Cordial.

2.0 BACKGROUND OF COMPANY

Abang Strawberry is a brand that exclusively managed by one of the prestigious pioneer of

agricultre sector in Malaysia high land which is YBS Agro Premiere Sdn Bhd.

Today Abang Strawberry have become one of the glorious icon in agriculture especially in

strawberry manufacturing and diversification base in Cameron Highland,Pahang,Malaysia.

The quality, product variety and processing quality has become the core of proud of Abang

Strawberry as the only one brand that not only process and market but they also have raw

materials specially produce by the farm that solely own by YBS Agro.

Abang Strawberry aiming to market their product line of Abang Strawberry to the global.

3.0 OWNER BACKGROUND

3.1 EDUCATION

Mr.Amnan start his primary school Sekolah Kebangsaan convent for 5 years and finish his

primary school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tekek in Tioman.He further in secondary school at

Sekolah Menengah Sultan Ahmad Shah for three years and 4 months then moved to

Sekolah Menengah Teknik Pertanian Chenor in Pahang.His highest education level is

Diploma in Business Studies at Universiti Teknologi Mara Jengka campus.

3.2 WORKING EXPERIENCE AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

At 13 years old, he already do the part time job at the Equotorial Hotel in Cameron

Highland.Every school holiday he will do the part time jobs until he finished Sijil Pelajaran

Malaysia and beome the full time staff at the hotel.For his business experience, during study

in diploma, he start with selling strawberry chocolate at his campus.Every event conducted

by the university that relate to doing business practically such as opening selling booth, he

will join it in order to have side income.Then, he diversifies his selling not just only selling

strawberry choclate but also selling cordial, jam spread and cameron highland tea.

3.3 FAMILY BACKGROUND

Mr.Amnan Othman is the second from 6 siblings which consist of four boys and two girls.His

father name Othman Ibrahim works as government servant at Pertubuhan Peladang in

Cameron.His mother named Junairah Yahya works as a business woman which now as an

owner of Abang Strawberry factory and also as an agent of Abanag Strawberry.

4.0 FACTOR INFLUENCE OF STARTINGUP THE BUSINESS

He has sole factor that influence him to start up a business which is he dream of in 20 years

he want to have a business empire so that he can help people by offering them jobs and

also help to decrease the unemployment rate in Malaysia.

5.0 MAJOR PROBLEM BEFORE AND AFTER START THE BUSINESS

Mr.Amnan major problem before start the business is himself.He fear to involve in business

because he think he cannot do it.He always think that if he start the business, he will unable

to manage the business because of his character which is low self confidence.

After he started the business,the major problem faced by him is in term of management of

company, business documentation and financing.He also encountred that he has problem

with human resource which is the staff problem and also problem of setting up the standard

work of procedure (SOP)

6.0 HOW HE DEALS WITH BUSINESS FAILURE

Mr.Amnan deals with his business failure by changing the people that be around him.He

says that whenever you face the business failure,you must surround yourself with positive

people.He also go and ask advice from the people that have the same target and same

interest as him.This is because for him,people with same target tend to understand each

other problem.Compared to you ask an advice from people who become a servant to the

companies,their way of thinking is different with how entreprenur think.For him if you ask

advice from people who work with others , you may feel more stressful and you can be

easily give up.Compared to asking advice from other entrepreneur, they will understand your

situation and give a good advice to him.

8.0 ROLE MODEL

His role model is his own mother because he amuse with her hard working character.His

mother before become the owner of Abang Strawberry factory and agent of Abang

Strawberry was only involve in morning market business.His mother was selling vegetables,

cameron highland tea and others.He said his mother never sigh whenever she tired.She also

never sigh even if that day, there were no customer and this cause his mother never get any

profit that day.His mom really strong and grateful person.No matter how hard the life hit her,

she always get up and try to learn from mistake without the sign of giving up.That is why he

choose his mother as his role model.

9.0 ELEMENT OF CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION IN BUSINESS

The element of creativity was when he discovers the taste of Sambal Strawberry where he is

the only one who think of it.There is no other product similar with it.The creativity is from

sambal, he changed it to sambal strawberry.This also cause an innovation to sambal where

it can mix with strawberry and the taste is fantastic.

10.0 FINANCIAL RESOURCE

He suggest that the first financial resource is family and friends where they are the closest

people that we know and talk to everyday.Family and friends will never ask too much

question in order to lend their money to you.

Other resource is PTPTN where for him instead of you use it without get any returns, it is

better to spend PTPTN money to start business even with small capital.So you can turn the

goods into revenue.

11.0 GOALS TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE NEXT 5/10 YEARS

Mr.Amnan goals in future is he wants to make more innovation on farming so that our

agriculture sector become more attractive.He also wants to make Abang Strawberry not just

produce food product but he also want it to become appearel brand, travel agency and event

management company.The ultimate goal of Mr.Amnan is to get out from the business and

become one of the most successful investor in the world.

12.0 OPINION ON IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTIC TO BE SUCCESSFUL

In his opinion,the important characteristic to be successful is discipline especially on time

and your appearel.Next characteristic is honest,because for him an honest man will never

become poor and it is not measured by cash.Honest is measured by your own self not

others.The last opinion of important characteristic to be successful is never lose guts to say

something.For him if you never ask,the answer is always no.
