An ancient city in Punjab, Jalandhar, ruled by the Hindus and the Mughals in succession, is believed to be the oldest city in Punjab. The city, which has major road and rail connections, is a market for agricultural products, textiles, leather goods, wood products, hand tools and sporting goods. Jalandhar today is a highly industrialised centre being India's foremost producer of world class sports equipments. Popularly called the 'Sports City of India' as it has not only the finest sports industry but also has the distinction of producing some of the best sports persons in the country. Jalandhar is also considered as a hub for education as many professional Institutions are situated in the city. It has very alive atmosphere, something that is typical to the whole of Punjab. It is situated at a distance of 146 km from its capital Chandigarh and is at a distance of 380 km from New Delhi on Delhi-Amritsar National Highway. Nearest international airport is at Amritsar at a distance of 90 km.
With the spread of globalization, a large number of human beings have benefitted from the advances in sciences and technology but still the question that remains pertinent is: whether science and technology has the potential and scope to uplift the humanity and reduce the social and economic divides? If the recent trends are an indication, then the answer is an emphatic yes.
Modern day life has become so complex that a monolithic approach towards issues concerning our society won't suffice. We need to have an open mind and realize that a multi disciplinary approach, combining knowledge from diverse fields can provide answers to all our problems. The present congress aims to provide a multidisciplinary platform where people from varied backgrounds can present and discuss the minute trends in sciences and technology & management. The present congress is designed with the objective:
To impart and share the knowledge, findings and ideas of research and development among academicians, scientists, engineers, researchers and industry experts from all around the nation.
To encourage individuals and organizations to take up quality research so that an all exclusive and sustainable growth of communities can take place.
To explore various thrust areas in the field of management & bridge the gap between theory & practice.
WELCOME TO JALANDHAR
DAV INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY JALANDHAR
DAV NATIONAL CONGRESS ON SCIENCE-TECHNOLOGY and MANAGEMENT (DAV-NCSTM 2014)
DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology Jalandhar was established in year 2001 under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. The institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. This is the first degree level Engineering Institute started by the DAV College Trust Management Society. The DAV College Trust and Management Society is the largest non-government educational organization in India managing a chain of more than 800 institutions in India and abroad. The institute is located in the heart of city on a prime piece of land adjacent to DAV College, Jalandhar on the left side of Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highways spread over a vast area possessing extremely beautiful landscape with a running canal on its back and historical Burlton Park on its front. DAVIET is carrying out original research of significance and technology development at the cutting edge. It imparts training to students to make them competent, motivated engineers and scientists. The Institute awarded with ‘Best Institute 2013’ by Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar not only celebrates freedom of thought, cultivates vision and encourages growth, but also inculcates human values and concern for the environment and the society.
